It's good to see that you're back to work on Laon, Fabian.  It's too bad about what happened with the OSITM, but I'm sure you can get there again.  The W2W blocks look very fine indeed, and it seems as though Laon is full of life.  Welcome back!

Fabian,
Fantastic update,  I always enjoyed your pictures and I'm really glad to see you back.  I just hope that you don't have any more problems with your computer.
It looks to me like you have spent alot of time planning and in LE, it shows in your pictures.  Everything seems to blend together very well.
And if I was you, I would just continue on with this MD.  You already have 4 pages under your belt, a good base of visitors and your style hasn't really changed.  ;)
Hope to see another update real soon.
Robin

Your LE work is very inspiring, you've given me so many ideas I can't wait to try them out!

I'll be on the lookout for more here!

Take care,

Dustin

Update #9

Ok, I worked a little bit more on the centre, I hope you'll enjoy it. Still I'm not sure, if I'm taking the pictures with the right zoom-level.

Here you can see the embassy of Tientsin-Fort Bayart (the white building on the right  ;)). I was inspired by the "Kommandantenhaus" in Berlin. It was rebuilt in 2003. Behind you can see my own version of the "Schinkelplatz". Click here.

Sorry for the traffic-generators  %wrd.

I hope you enjoyed my ninth Update  :),
Fabian

Looking good!  Really you can take pictures at any zoom level depending on what you're trying to show.  You've got a lovely detailed city there already!

CabraBuitre

I love the street views!  It gives so much life to the city!

I really like that gray building with the columns too.  It goes quite well with the Paris set.  Do you remember where you got it?

Check out Abelfarei!

I grit my teeth, Fabian, every time I see sort of thing in RL.

The entrance to a "Park-A-Lot" across the street from from a beautiful old stone building is just almost too much to bear.  You've very accurately captured the umpteen reasons why every city with architectural treasures needs to do everything it can to protect and preserve not just the structures themselves, but the "viewshed" in which they are situated.  Your pic actually had me wondering what wonderful old building or garden (the stone building the entrance is in front of looks like the sort that, pre-automobile days, would have had a formal garden or lawn in front of it) was torn up so that there could be more off-street parking.

Great job, and a karma point for presenting something that makes Laon's readers think about the choices that have to be made in adapting yesterday's urban areas to today's needs.

CabraBuitre: Thanks, glad you like it. I've already sent you the link by pm. But if anyone else would like to know it: CLICK!
Sciurus: Thanks Guillaume, I'm always happy to hear that.
art128: Wow, thanks alot Arthur, always glad to hear such words  :).
dedgren: Well, I have to admit that I first didn't understand your post, maybe I was reading too quick. But after all I suppose you like that I've shown something, that is just "ugly" or "unmatching" in a real city. Glad to hear from you in this thread and also that you like it, David  :).

Update #10

Ok, now I've finished some more buildings, I will describe the pictures. I still don't know how to save a picture without loosing to much quality... anyway.
I personally love the following building on the right, it has been made out of "Carson Plaza" and "Trowbridge House".

Another view:

And one last view, you see a parking lot behind the building..

A plaza, connecting an old opera with a modern cinema-complex. Yes it's supposed to be that empty in the middle. Just a plaza. (I will probably edit this part of my city again, since it could be more detailed, in my opinion..)

The most modern cinema.. only in Laon  :D

Overview. On the left the opera, on the right the cinema.

A new block. It serves as residential building for some Sims, but also as coffee shop and so on (if you look on the left side of the building you can see some tables of the coffee shop...).

One more view.

Some administration building and Laon's main church.

Overview, looking north.

Overview, looking south.

I hope you enjoyed this 10th update,
Fabian  ;)

CabraBuitre

Thanks for the link!

Update #11

This is not really an update, but I want to show you a mosaic I had planned for last time. Hope you enjoy it.
Maybe the quality sucks in your opinion. I don't know, if it's too big, I hope it's not.

Attention! If you click on it the same picture opens in high resolution (=6mb).

Fabian  :)

CabraBuitre

I don't think the quality sucks...!  I really enjoyed that view.  Perhaps it appears a bit more grainy than the regular sized pic... but it really shows the details quite well!

Check out Abelfarei!

Pikatchoum

Very nice pics and amazing work with the LE. I love the atmoshpere here. I think it mostly come from the sidewalk texture you're using wich fits very well with the buildings and the many trees. The plazzas are very beautiful.

Ps: I don't know if you know but there is a city in France called Laon.

Keep it up.

kimcar

A ton of great details and well done.  &apls &apls &apls Thanks for sharing and lokking forward for sure

Back again, Fabian.  I thought Update 10 and the recent mosaic were very well done.  It's nice to see proper attention paid to making a city "pedestrian-friendly."
