Diagonals may be more work... but the payoff is better too!

The same can be said for the curves shown here too.  I know it is more work to lot and then relot to get everything right under the curves... but, again, the payoff is much better than it would be without!  I simply love the curve around the fountain.  It's real-world postcard worthy quality!

Oh a real delight to see your latest update, it really is...hun... :P lol

Wow - Abrupt transition between the downtown and the suburbs !  :o
Sometimes I think that it's not nice, but your way to make it realistic is very nice.
Again an awesome lotting job!

Keep it up,

Arthur.
I'll take a quiet life... A handshake of carbon monoxide.

And what a great new MD I stumble upon only today...... Excellent!  I like the grandeur of your innercity and the relaxing green environment in the suburbs. Although, like others, I am surprised with the abrupt transition, but must admit it does look kind of cool...  as if suddenly the Genevrans got a totally different lifestandard...

This all look gorgeous, and a lot of effort has gone into the making of this MD. I especially enjoyed your magazine.

This chapter continues to explore the everyday in the capital city as we finish up our look at the western periphery of the "old city" where it meets the suburbian fringes. The second image includes a glimpse of the back of the Catedrala da Gronda Spada as to place the entire area shown in context, the Trottier Metro from Chapter V also has a cameo in this update. And as March draws to a close, the April 2009 edition of Le Monarque has been released for your reading pleasure and it includes some vital stories on the political and diplomatic status of Genevra abroad.

I also invite you to peruse the April 2009 edition of Le Monarque.

Carmine: Actually, I've found an easier way then what you've described...for the grid of the inner city all the
Parisian buildings are plopped independently as landmarks and all the lot editing goes on when I create stretches of road
to match the grid (which can easily be reused while avoiding repetition ;)).

mightygoose: My plugins folder isn't organized enough to give you exact numbers, but I have about
twenty different lots for the roads I would say. :)

BarbarossaS: I'm certainly glad to have a newcomer. ;D

kimcar: Thank you. :) :)

Dustin: Try telingl that to the game...sometimes while running something like Photoshop or iTunes in the
background SC4 turns into this. My excessive use of props certainly
"staggers" the game, and I'm only about 1/5 of the way through one large tile.  $%Grinno$%

CabraBuitre: Diagonals are more work...and FARR pieces are even more! If you look closely in the panoramic
you'll see some use of the FARR in the upper right hand corner. :satisfied: Now that's a pain in the butt. :P

pip: Such a card. ;D

Arthur: I guess the jury is still out on this one. :P

sebes: Oh good another newcomer! :D

kwakelaar: I'm quite glad that you mentioned the magazine, that part probably takes the most time. ::)

I9113N: Well we all have our talents... :satisfied: I certainly enjoy my time over at the Lower Countries. :)
...this space to be filled soon...

First again! ;p

Another breathtaking update, DJ! It is truly unbelievably good.. I'm sure the SC4 creators would be proud if they saw this...
And well, you're unvealed building style tip might be stolen soon! I got sick of SC4 because custom lotting took SO much work, but your way of doing it inspired me as it's much easier. :)

Who knows maybe soon it'll be time for Savoie v2.0?! :p

Take care!! x

BarbarossaS

I don't think DJ's way of lotting is that much easier than say that of BadSim's Antigone, I must say I'm equally impressed with both  ;D
The surplus here is the fantastic Le Monarque, I like that bit A LOT!!!
Keep 'm coming, those updates, I'll be back for more  :P

Excellent update again... and today I also figured how to read the magazine ()testing().... WOW!  That is amazing what you do there....

&apls &aplsAnother beautifull update . What else to said . I have the impresion to repeat myself ;D Nice transition that you have done between apts and smaller house. Great work

CabraBuitre

Yes, diagonals may be extra work... but there definitely is a big payoff!  One thing that I really like is how integrated they are.  Most times that I see people use them, they're either diagonal or orthogonal.  You have a great combination of both!

Keep up the great work!

Genevran WikiProject Progress
[link]

Today I am introducing the Genevran WikiProject, which I will show at the beginning of each chapter detailing my current progress with the Genevran wiki page on the SCJU wiki until said page is complete and containing all relevant information on Genevra.

New Pages
[[ Main Page :: Montereau :: History of Genevra; Antiquity, Middle Ages, Early Modern, Modern ]]

Considering I have not shown a map or given any detailed information on the geography of Genevra, you will be surprised to find that in this chapter you will be introduced to the Rhone River. This is the very same river that flows to the Mediterranean through the French cities of Lyon and Avignon, yet it is at its most pictureesque as it runs through the carefully constructed, tree-lined canals of Montereau. No longer a work horse of industry and travel, Genevra has transformed the Rhone into a work of art. In addition, we also see la Basilique de Saint Apôtre from a variety of angles (as Genevran engineers finally figured out how to overcome the prop limit on a lot ;)) as well as a huge teaser that should be fairly obvious in the second image. Enjoy!

Carmine: Well I'm not sure if it's any easier, though it may speed up the process a bit. I would
certainly like to see a Savoy 2.0 so just give me a ring if you need help with anything. ;)

BarbarossaS:Ah yes, I was hoping that the fancy magazine would bring that added, unique touch,
and it seems I have succeeded! ;D

sebes: Haha I'm glad you figured it out, perhaps I need to make clearer instructions. "$Deal"$

kimcar: Thank you very much! :) :)

CabraBuitre: Just enough diagonals so I don't pull my hair out, add in a few FARR pieces and
suddenly the grid becomes much less pronounced as I distract your attention. :P
...this space to be filled soon...

CarmineHilton

I didn't mean to say easier, actually meant faster... lol, sorry :)
And I'd certainly like to start with Savoy 2.0 (Confédération savoisienne) too, but some things are stopping me :s
I'm trying to create a custom sidewalk, but for some reason another texture overlaps the texture I want to use in-game and the SC4 Tool doesn't work :s lol
Lots of problems stopping me from playing! :p

I did send you a PM at the forums with a request, hope you consider helping me with it :) thx! xx

As for the update, again another fabulous serie of pictures! The canal is unbelievably stunning!!!
Hope Prades will be just as gorgeous... It's also on the Rhône river, if you didn't know ;)
Keep amaze me with your fantastic work/lots and I'll always be the first to reply. héhé xD

Take care!

very nice! Just looked at your wiki  I was wondering why the LU wasn't on the relations list.  :D                    ... ::)
Although I must confess that your supreme lotting skills have inspired me to try the Lot Editor. Although, I can't get much done while on vacation (will be visiting friends in China)   ;)

Your city is  :o :o :o :o
A love the Lotediting and the good use of the building !! It looks like downtown Lyon

I can't wait to see more!

It was great joy reading your wiki pages at SCJU... If I will ever fire up my game again I will really consider joining there for background info on Nieuw Nederland/Dutch America and establishing some diplomatic relations.

However, looking at your great pictures, and knowing the quality of other member states, my heart sinks into my boots &mmm
