Hi Dustin!

I love this lotting, which is just awesome, and so beautiful, I think it demands much hours to do that! Just a precision: the "Grande Arche" is in the Paris' CBD, I don't know if you knew that, but I hope the quarter around the Grande Arche will remind "La Défense" ;)
I see there's a ly flower next to the M of Marathon. But why this?

One of your bigger fan, Guillaume

This is simply stunning work, Dustin. Now that you have my attention and undying admiration, I'm curious about a couple of things. Obviously this level of work is not for the faint of heart - and certainly not for beginners. So how should newbies go about getting started - what did you start out with? When and why? Thanks for showing your work, BTW. It's very inspirational even though far out of my league!

Later...

Fantastic LE-Work there! Nice pictures of that building and area around it...

Robin (rooker1): Thank you so much, Robin! You're right, too—it's amazing how many different lots it can take to put an area together. Thankfully, this one was only five, and there was a 12x1 and a 14x1 in there. In the end, though, it's all worth it. Thanks for stopping by!

Battlecat: Thanks, my friend! I'm feeling much better now! I'm glad that you enjoyed the area and the lots, too! Take care!

metarvo: Thanks so much!

Arthur (art128): Thanks, Arthur!

Maarten (mrntrln): Thank you, Maarten!

Joe (JoeST): Thanks!

Guillaume (Sciurus): Thank you, Guillaume! I was aware that the Grande Arche was in Paris, but I'm not as familiar with La Défense. I'll have to check that area out! As for the fleur de lis in Marathon's logo, it comes from the historical connection between Marathon and the Canadian province of Québec, which I should probably elaborate on at some point! Thanks, as always, for your wonderful comments and support, my friend. It means a lot to me!

kimcar: Thanks so very much, my friend! It's always wonderful to see you here!

Fabian (Fabian93): Thank you, Fabian, for your great comment, and for coming by! Hope to see you again!

Luke09: Thank you so much! Your support is much appreciated!

Joan (Jmouse): Hi, Joan! You as a very good question—how did I get started? Well, since you've been a friend of Marathon's since the very beginning, you've seen my LE beginnings way back in Update 2: See—Walls! I really did not find my LE legs properly, though, until I started working with Robin (rooker1) on the Centennial Quay Sports Complex project. From there, I just parlayed what I was learning there into other things. The best advice I can give is to just start small and please feel free to ask any questions that you may have. If I don't have an answer, someone definitely will! Good luck with your LE endeavors, my friend! I can't wait to see what you create!

Alex (Driftmaster07): Thank you, Alex!

carkid1998: Thanks!

bat: Thank you, my friend. I am always pleased to see your comments here!

Well, as quickly as the cold hit me, it went away! I still have a bit of congestion, but otherwise I'm in good shape. Thank you all very much for your best wishes, I appreciate it very much!

Right now, I am watching Deutsche Welle USA that comes on one of the local channels here in eastern Pennsylvania from 2:00-6:00 AM. It rotates each hour from English language to German, and I actually like to watch the German versions better, trying to use my high school German from ten years ago (Wow! I feel old!) to figure out what is being said. Right now, it's the English version, though, so I have to wait a few more minutes.

Anyway, though! I've been working on the preliminary stages of Marathon: Full Region Mode—

Here is the hand-drawn additions to the printed map from earlier...

As is always the case, there is some difference between the hand-drawn and in-game renders. Once the major terraforming is complete, I will begin doing some more detailed work.

Oh, and we're knocking on the door of 1200 comments, too! Will be get there this weekend?

Hope your weekend is going well...More from Marathon to come!

That is growing fast there Dustin, the region looks great.
Can't wait to see more.

Hi dustin,

Still happy to come there you know. Thanks for the explanation about the fleur de lys. I think you already know, that Québec was a french province, and the Louisiane was a french state, and USA bought it in 1803. I believe there's a fleur de lys on the flag of Louisiane, but I'm not sure.
So, after this little history lesson, I just would like to congratulate you about your city, and this map is beautiful &apls. I'm happy you wink at France, it touches me &kiss

Stunning work, Dustin!  It's always a pleasure to stop by and see what you've done with Marathon.

I like your street sign images, too.     Any route markers you use should probably have the fleur de lys on it.   :P

Arthur (art128): Thank you, Arthur!

Guillaume (Sciurus): Hello, my friend! Sorry about the confusion about the spelling, too. I looked it up in the dictionary and it said that it can be spelled either way, fleur-de-lis, or fleur-de-lys. But, if fleur-de-lys is the preferred French version, I will definitely take your word for it and use it from now on! It is always great to have you here, my great French friend! If I slip up with your wonderful language or culture, please don't hesitate to let me know!

David (Simpson): Thank you so very much, David! Hope to see you here again!

Ryan (burgsabre87): Hey, Ryan! It's great to see you here, my friend. I'm glad that you're enjoying things here, and I will definitely be thinking about the route markers, too. Highways and their corresponding number system is the first step after the region is done! Take care, my friend, and don't be a stranger!

Alex (Driftmaster07): Thanks, Alex! Neither can I!

Well, I'm still working on the region view, but I saw this...

...over at ST. It is the Underground Car Park by mcdrye, and it caught my eye earlier, so I grabbed it and gave it a quick plop.

Now, I'll be heading back into the game to work on the region end of things again. I should have something to show soon!

In a bit!

Hey there, Dustin. I have been lurking from time-to-time, just so you know! ;) I'm looking forward to seeing the progress on the full region. And that car park is an awesome find. If I were currently doing an urban project, I'd definitely go download it now ... but it'll be another 500 updates on my MD before I'm able to use it! :D
