Simply outstanding Dustin!  You break away from the grid and then form another grid?  What a centrepiece, amazing!

Hi Dustin,

Thanks for the sense, so I propose you to write "N'oubliez pas de poster", but it mens "Don"t forget to post". I don't know if it's the same sense, but I think it compares that you want. If it's not that, PM me, or MSN me (you've got my address), and we'll can deabte about it as well ;)
So, after this little explanation about a simple translation I can't do, speaking about your city. This city is a lot lotted, but it's good, because it embellishs it, and it's beautiful as this. I think it's the better thing we can do for a city ;) So, after this long message, I can you I hope to stop by there on the next time you'll do an update :)

David (dedgren): Hi, David! Thanks so much for your wonderful comments, and also for such a great idea! I wish I would have thought of that! Hope to see you again soon, my friend!

Maarten (mrtnrln): Thanks, Maarten!

Robin (rooker1): Hello, Robin! David's idea is quite a good one, isn't it? Thank you for your kind words, as well as your input on the prop families. I've used them before, but for some reason, I just never think to use them anymore. I do get a bit frustrated using the menu for them, since there's really no rhyme nor reason in it, even with the Prop Family Names file. If I'm honest, too, the repetition of the trees was, in part, deliberate. I am trying to go for something like this, only in the context of the area, of course! I do agree, though, that they may be too repetitive. So a middle ground between the two is needed! That's on the list to be looked into when next I open the LE. Thanks for stopping by, Robin, and I hope your feeling better, my friend!

metarvo: Hi! I never fully grasped just how challenging diagonals were until this little project, but "challenging" is good, right? I hope it is, anyway! Thanks for your support, and take care, my friend!

mightygoose: Thanks! I'll be exploring David's idea right away!

Luke (Luke09): Thank you!

carkid1998: Thanks so much, my friend!

Haljackey: Ha! I never thought of it that way! Grids are always around the corner, aren't they? Take care!

Arthur (art128): Thank you, Arthur! Your comments are always wonderful, my friend!

Guillaume (Sciurus) Ahh, n'oubliez pas de poster makes much more sense! Now, if we can only find a way to make it N'oubliez pas de poster Jour, or "Don't Forget to Post Day," which would mean the same thing as "No Lurking Day." Would adding jour at the end do that, or just make it mean nothing again? Either way, it's times like this that I'm happy I have my great French Ambassador! Thanks so much for all your help, and also for your kind words on the park, too!

kimcar: Thank you, my friend! I also agree on clearing the front of the cathedral, too!

Corey (Nexis4Jersey): Thank you, Corey!

darraghf: Thanks! I used to think the same thing about not having the patience for the LE, but it's worth it if you can fight through. Good luck!

Alex (Driftmaster07): Thanks, Alex!

Joan (Jmouse): Thank you so much, Joan! I think you had more faith in me than I had in myself!

Have you ever wondered why 3RR is such a hotbed for phenomenal ideas, custom content, etc.?

Well, there's a myriad of reasons, but after reading the message that our great friend David (dedgren) posted here...

Magnificent, Dustin!  The only thing I might dare to suggest is that you would remove the trees that are directly in front of the main entrance so that there's a clear line of sight view out to the avenue.  That's like trying to improve on perfection, though, my friend.

David

...I believe I have a clue that may aid in answering that question. It's because David has the uncanny ability to recognize how the tiniest of details can translate into immense and magnificent results!

Case in point—the front of our cathedral. Before...

...and...

...after!

Now, while David's insight there alone is enough to make complete and perfect sense, the true length and breadth of his intuitive powers is in coming up with an idea that not only spawns a better result for the original item, but also spawns inspiration on a larger scale! Of which I speak...

...Commonwealth Avenue South, which is now mysteriously bulldozed. Thanks to David's suggestion about opening up the front of the cathedral, my thoughts went straight to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, of Rocky fame. More specifically, the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.

Tweaking the Ben Franklin a bit, I came up with...

...this!

To spice up the area directly in front of the cathedral, and to also give a bit of a focal point...

...an avenue roundabout, connected to cathedral square.

Here's...

...a zoomed-out view.

This new configuration means a shift from my original plans, but also opens up a whole new avenue of options, specifically for the in between the north- and southbound sides of Commonwealth Avenue!

So, thank you, David, for just doing what you do so well, my friend!

More on the way!

Hi!

So, for the translation, if you add the word "jour" at the end of the sentence, its doesn't mean nothing too, yes, french is very complicated!! So, I propose you to write "N'oubliez pas de poster quand vous passez" which gives in english "Don't forget to post when you stop by" ;) I hope it's that! ;D
For the cathedral, your lotting is excellent, I love it, I think you should learn me how you do, and how you choose all your props, to do it superb. Again, congratulations Dustin, and a little adversiting for my city, I invite you to stop by my topic, clicking the banner in my signature ;)

Nice modification!  I like the addition of the roundabout.  Keep up the great work!

Excellent idea - you and David make a good team! :) Guess one of the easiest mistakes to make is having too many trees - but there's just something about a blank tile that seems to bother many of us.

Nevertheless, I think you have this project nailed now and it's just a mater of...mmmmmm...filling in the blank tiles? ::)

Later...

Awesome work! The area now looks much better.  Also if you want to go for a real churchy (not sure if thats a word  ;) ) feel you might want to search for "Alexander Column Roundabouts" (pun with my name not intended! :-[ ) over at the STEX. They have some great stuff! Don't forget to download the dependacies too!
