Actually, that's not exactly how it works.  The semis come in the gate and go all the way around the building and end up at the doors.  The route is one way.  This prevents "blind backing" which, unless absolutely necessary, isn't done.  If you place your trailer wheels on the door's guide line (which isn't there yet), after performing a little "s" turn, you'll slip right into the slot with nary a problem.  This is a safety feature to prevent backing accidents.  Also, the yellowish building would be the admin building.  The small kiosk on the front is where the person taking the manifests from the truckers has his/her little niche.  Hmm...more than you probably wanted to know, right? :D

Fred_Ginger

I haven't a clue as to what you said (maybe when the lines get drawn) but I like the building (just what do they have in there though?)

are you going to put signs, like arrows and stuff on the lot to help unconfuse people?

@Fred_Ginger:  It's a cold storage facility.  These type facilities stock mostly frozen foods, but there are some that are cryogenic facilities.

@Cali:  Yep.  I'm making custom textures for the lot.  I'll put everything on one big .bmp, then cut the 128x128 sections from it, to make the base textures.

oldrogue

Ahh, glad you spained it!!!   You sound like you have some experience with the whys and wherefores of the mater.....I havn't driven the big boys since the early 70's.. Two loads into the docks of San Francisco's wharf area convinced me... &ops

The more I think about it, the more eager I am for the lot.....

Oh, ick, not together I trust?  Thanks for the answer, I was wondering if it was a cryogenic which is why I asked...

No - satisfied!   :satisfied:

But still think the admin building should not be in front of the main door of the main building... :P

OK, it's been a few days since I've posted anything (I plead RL issues). :D  That said, I've actually been rather busy.  Here's a few in-game pics of some stuff that's either in testing or soon will be.

First is Hadmore Arms, a factory converted to medium wealth apartments.

Next is a small chemical storage facility.  This will be an ID_Mech lot.

This is the rail barge lot.  The barge will appear/disappear twice per game day. See next post.

jestarr

Apparently, I'm only allowed three pics per post. :D Anyway, continuing on.  The next pic is the same shot as above, except it's just after the barge disappeared.

Finally, I've been working on the lot and textures for Schwartz Chemical.  This one's in the home stretch. ;D

Well, that's all for now.  Cheers!

Strechnitz

Hi Jestarr

I like your industrial buildings I use them a lot. Schwartz chemical is another beauty!
Where did you get those windows from. they are very nice. You think you'll be using them for other Bat's as well?

Strech.

Elektra

I like those awnings you have for the car at Hadmore Arms.   I don't think I have seen that with any other housing.

jestarr

Thanks everyone.  I'm glad you like them.
@Strech:  The building was a real one.  I got the windows from a pic I found on the net.  Sadly, it no longer exists.
@Electra:  Awnings, such as these, are very common, especially in the South West.  They're relatively cheap to build and perform their function well.

Gaston

I've lived in several apartment complexes that have similar parking "carports".   Really nice addition to a great building.

It's all great stuff!   &apls  I like the new textures for the chemical tanks.  Schwartz is quickly becoming one of my favorite industrial so far.  I really like the roof on the loft conversion and those nice tall windows.  And of course you already know how I feel about the barge!   :D  Speaking of which... I didn't realize how big that was!  (I have to completely revisit my plan...lol)
