Not bad Ethan not bad at all. :)' But you have 1 wrong. That's all I'll say at this stage  :P

thundercrack83

Wonderful game, Dave! I love it!

I can amend Ethan's post by saying...

4. Petticoat Junction.

Other than that, he's done quite well!

Can't wait to see the results!

That was quick, at this rate I'll have a city full of guest houses  :D

Hmmm, well Ethan did get 10 correct and Dustin chipped in with the last so I'll buld the estate with a main residence and a guest house, and let you two fight over it   ;D

I'll give this theme one more crack. This time the winner gets to pick his reward in Clontarf, an estate, a riverside cottage, farm, business. Your call (within reason  ;) ), and if some LE work is req'd so be it (but don't expect any BAting).

So here we go, the final 11 (for this topic anyway):

1. Feelin' lonely and so cold

2. Oh I am what I am

3. What adventures soon you will make.

4. Would you be mine? Could you be mine?

5. Come and play with me. And I will take you on a trip

6. While pinning it on some blood was spilled

7. You can see the morning sun if you try.

8. You maybe lonely and then, One day you're smiling again.

9. As we jump into the Final Frontier.

10. Fun, fun, fun,

11. Luck is the lady that he loves the best.

Oh, and by the way, one of these may just play in the end credits  %confuso

Terrific idea, Dave! A bit out of my league, though, since I don't watch TV. &mmm

Later...
Joan

TheTeaCat

Great idea Dave.

I'd love to partake but seeing as my TV broke 17 years ago and I still ain't got it fixed ::) 'tis a bit hard for me, so I'll leave it to the telly addicts to contest.

Looking forward to seeing what you do this month

Well, I did pretty well...

I'll guess again!
1. Gilmore Girls
2. Roswell
3. Nightrose
4. Mr. Rogers' Neighbourhood
5. HR Pufnstuf (He's your friend when things get rough!)
6. F-Troop
7. Chico and the Man
8. Punky Brewster
9. Mad About You
10. Tigger's Personal Theme Song? That's not right, I know it.
11. Maverick

Okay I know that number 10 is not right, probably, but I think all the others are right, not sure though, as I had to do a little research for these as well. Maybe Dustin will come and fix it for me again.

And to Derry, I am hardly a TV addict, I spend more time on SC4D than TV in a day.

Ethan

tooheys

You're slipping Ethan, two wrong this time  :P But which two are they, well you know one already.

Any ideas anybody?

ecoba

#947
Well, I think Number 3 is the other one wrong.

Maybe I'll feel like checking again later. But not now.

Also for my estate could you use one of C.P.'s new $$$ houses, and do Dustin's guest house as a $$ C.P. house, with lots of trees, and possibly in an area surrounded by farms. I like the rural life, but you can do it however you want.

Ethan

Edit: From your update, you do realise that there are gravel smoth curves under the Rural Roads Menu. You could replace the default maxis streets with this.

tooheys

#948
Well let's get this sorted before the next update. Ethan has 9 correct answers, 3 & 10 are incorrect. So a clue or two:-

-Zeta Orionis is definitely not one of these.

-Tobio's image lives on.

Whoever picks up the last two wins.  Goodluck

ecoba

Okay!

3. Astro Boy
10. Red Dwarf

I think those are right, again.

citycapitalizer Thanks for dropping by.

soulchaser Hi soulchaser, appreciate the comments. Hope you enjoy what is coming.

Nardo69 Thanks for the hints re the sidings, that will save me a bit of room in my
industrial areas.

It is an honour to be part of the 3 OSITM club, and in such great company as well ;)

Now all I have to do is catch you in the photo comp  :)

battlecat Thanks battlecat, it gets harder though as you do more farms.

Jmouse Joan, I'm pleased you are enjoying this new start. I think the basic Dave style is still there,
just a few different tools to play with and a renewed enjoyment of the game.

Another small rural town, and home to the Culbertson twin service centres along the highway.

But before we have a closer look, down to some business.

3.03
As a reward for his efforts with the TV theme quiz, ecoba earned himself an estate to use
whenever visiting Clontarf. So here it is, pretty much everything north of the stream.
The "Ecoba Orchard Estate".

Now don't worry, no need to work. The orchard is looked after by a team of
workers who live off the estate. But feel free to join in if you feel like getting
a bit dirty.

3.04
ecoba, I hope you find the residence comfortable enough.

3.05
And for his able assist, just down from the main house is the Thundercrack Shack. Yours to use
whenever you feel like it.

Nice update Dave. Great competition too. The Ecoba Estate and the Thundercrack Shack (named that shortly after writing your mod list didn't you?)  are great little additions to an already colorful landscape. Glad to finally see the rest stops in action. Those must be a sight for sore eyes... right... eyes... after many long miles. I think 3.08 gets my pic for favorite picture of the update though. The waterfall is well done, and the house on the left really catches the eye, as does the detail of the farm surrounding it. Nice work Dave.

Oh Wow, Dave!

I love it, and I'm sure Dustin will too. Culbertson is a quaint little town and I would love to live there. Can't wait for another update, I will have to think about my 'reward', I'll PM you about it though.

Ethan

How exactly does the road that goes to Dustin and I's connect to the rest of the city?

Battlecat

Superb job as always here.  I really like what you did with that estate for ecoba!  Love that river as well, it's all looking excellent!

Jmouse

3.02 shows a very interesting treatment/layout of the dirt road, and the estate (3.04) is picture perfect. What a lovely place to live! I'm curious about the RHW (?) at the bottom of 3.02 and the overpasses – such high-capacity arteries seem like overkill in such a modest community. Of course, it's probably just an inter-regional connection, though.

Culberson is very attractive, and I'm so glad to see the rest stop make an appearance (3.07). You did a great job on it, and I hope to see it on the LEX one of these days. The waterfall/rapids in 3.08 looks just great, and your TPW and culverts in the next couple of photos are very well done. I'll admit I'd hate to exit a RL highway and find a roundabout awaiting me, but it works well in this situation and I can see why you chose to arrange things that way.

Superb update...

Well when I started this, I mentioned that one of the early challenges will be getting the transport
networks from the tableland down to the plains.

I took a break from plopping trees today, thought it would be a good idea to get these "passes" in
place for planning purposes.

So here is the first. Grid is on to show the terrain variations.

First from the low side:
3A.01

And the high side:
3A.02

Well as you can see the road isn't too much of a problem, but the rail slope mod I have
makes for a very long climb. I think I have it smoothed out quite well. The terrain still needs a little bit of
fixing but otherwise I'm quite happy with the result.

Let me know what you think.

Replies with next full update coming shortly.

Wow these winding road and rail look fantastic!! &apls I guess they've taken you a lot of time to plop, but the result is worth it!

I think you've done a pretty nice job with that. Would love to see that area finished with trees etc.

meinhosen

My compliments with the rail slope.  &apls  I'm going to have to copy what you've done (I've had nothing but fits and frustration moving rails up slopes  :P )  Great work, though!  Love the look of the winding road snaking its way up to the top of the tablelands.
You're telling me I get to be home for more than 12 months?

djvandrake

Culbertson looks wonderful!  &apls

The stream / river through it is nicely done, and I really like the fence line at the city boundry.

Those passes are very impressive.  It looks quite nice and I know that took quite a bit of work to get the terraforming just right.
