Nothing wrong with rural!  It's always amazing to see how much difference there is in the appearance of rural areas from one MD to another.  Have to say my favorite today is your last shot with the RHW and the small industrial area.  It looks amazing!

Tomas Neto

I agree with Battlecat, really it's always amazing to see how much difference there is in the appearance of rural areas from one MD to another, and I think that can be a kind of enchantment of this game, that make this possible!!! My friend, another fantastic update, very fantastic!!! And congrats in the comment of number 1000!!!  &apls &apls &apls

Well the month is just about over and a big thanks to everyone who dropped by.
Hope you continue to pay Clontarf a visit as you're always welcome.

Amazingly, 1000 posts, something I never thought possible and all thanks to you

Replies next update, but as a result of posting the 1,000th reply, Battlecat you have just joined the reward list.
Same reward as before, but it doesn't have to be used immediately. Of course if you would like something a
bit rural now would be the time to ask, but feel free to wait until we start dealing with the more built up
areas, industrial, commercial, ports etc. Your choice, just let me know.

I'm working on the next update which is a little different. Should I give you a glimpse or not............
Maybe 1 pic:-

See you soon

Dave

Hey Dave,
first of all, congrats on reaching the 1000 comments my friend !
Secondly, It was  great month, here in the OSITM, you showed a lot of fantastic pictures and updates, all greatly done.
Now, as for the last picture, it looks quite nice, I like the little pond there with that walkway just along it. The flora is incredibly placed and the result is really pleasant to the eyes.
Take care,
-Arthur.
I'll take a quiet life... A handshake of carbon monoxide.

Thanks Arthur, but did you see the giraffes  ;)

art128

Yeah, I spot them, so I thought it's a zoo ??!  :P

Now that would be a good guess  :) although I could be starting up a new range of dairy  ??? You'd need long arms though  ::)

joelyboy911

Giraffe milk? It could take off, you know.  :D

But seriously, it looks like its going to be an awesome zoo!

I miss you, Adrian

Battlecat

Well I'll be darned!  Didn't even realize I'd made that post, congratulations on achieving 1000 replies!

Looks like a custom zoo to me, or something along that line!  Looking forward to seeing the whole works!

djvandrake

That looks really great Dave, although I certainly hope it isn't a Giraffe dairy.  :D

Congrats on a great month in OSITM.  &apls

Giraffe farms. I come in here and they're talking about giraffe farms... and last time he's talking about milking bulls... This is why I keep coming back. Great pics, great style, and an amazing sense of humor (both on the part of the author and the readers too). Dave, your last full update(s)... wow, I need to post here more often... are top notch as always. I'm not sure how you manage to pack so much vairety and depth into these areas, but it's great to watch. The dairy farm was amazing, and really had the feel of a working farm. As for the new area here, I like the giraffes. It looks like you may be taking the San Diego Zoo approach to thing (room to run and all that). With as long as their necks are though, you may want to widen/deepen the canal or else some tourists will be losing their snacks. Looking forward to seeing what you're coming up with.

This is going to look terrific when finished, Dave. Already looking like it will be a great addition to an already exemplary MD.

You're approaching the development of Clontarf with a creative touch which reflects hours and hours of work backed by years of experience. But it also shows a new-found willingness to experiment - to look at the elements available and see possibilities many others have missed. And all this without losing that wonderful sense of humor! Simply amazing!

And did I mention that I really like what I'm seeing here?

Hmm.. haven't commented, what's up with that.

Maybe I was taken hostage by an imposter that was strange and didn't like your work, Dave.

That must be it....

Great start of a zoo (or dairy farm, hmm... if you sent me a bottle I might be willing to try it... maybe...). I wonder how you got the Giraffes in the game in the first place, did you BAT them?

I am eagerly waiting for more of the zoo (or dairy farm- just had to make that point.).

Ethan

P.S. Sorry for kindof being weird this time around. It happens to us all every once in a while it seems, maybe me more than others though.  ;D

Hi guys, sorry for the delay in a full update, but the zoo is taken a lot longer than expected. Hopefully
we'll get there by the end of the month but in the meantime, some replies and a few more pic's of progress to date.

Replies

art128: Thanks Arthur, appreciate your input as always.

joelyboy911: lol first glass is yours.

Battlecat: Thanks Battlecat, your reward is coming. Just a little slower than first thought.

djvandrake: Thankyou, and I can dismiss all rumours of a dairy (or can I)

threestooges: hehe,  well if there is anyone who can work out what I'm raving on about, I'd expect it to be a
fellow NUT

Jmouse: Hey Joan, unfortunately this update is taking longer than I ever thought. But we'll get there.

citymax: Thanks

TheTeaCat: Thanks Derry, always great to see you dropping by.

Tomas Neto: You may have to wait a little longer Tomas. Sorry about that, but hope you enjoy a few more teasers.

QuoteSorry for kindof being weird this time around
Well you realise I'm a member of NUTs so I'm used to
all sorts of weird. The giraffes and several other animals can be found in SG's Mega Pack.

Colton Plains Zoo & Safari Park

First a little background. The idea for this came from an open plain zoo located at Dubbo
NSW and going back some years, the African Lion Safari, now closed. The latter you could drive your car
through various compounds occupied by lions, bears and if I recall correctly, tigers. It was eventually closed
back in the 70's I think for obvious reasons.

Anyway, here are a few pic's on progress to date. We now have elephants and lions.

The drivethru lion enclosure. Please keep your hands within the vehicle at all
times. The white vehicles off the road are rangers, ready to interven if the lions
get a little too friendly.

There will be a lot more detailed photos once I've got this finished. Still have at least four more enclosures
to complete plus the entrance and picnic areas.

Hopefully by months end I'll be able to show something a bit more substantial.
And I haven't forgotten about the outstanding rewards, I'll show them as soon as I can.

Dave.

joelyboy911

Oh wow. That is neat. I can't wait to see the finished product. When you do get it done, I would like to see lots of pics from all different angles if possible.

The terrain detailing looks amazing. So do your custom lots.

I think there'll be a zoo in my region soon - You've inspired me.

Oh yeah - I would try Giraffe milk, if you had some. How bad could it be? People drink milk from soybeans and goats, so why not?  :P

Lions and tigers and bears, oh my! And details, details, details!

A free-roam zoo is a wonderful idea, Dave, and unique far as I know. If not, at least the way you design yours is/will be unique! The textures and landscaping elements you're using - and the way you're putting them together - looks terrific. You've definitely nailed down the rugged look one would expect to find on a giraffe dairy an outback safari! ;)

This whole project is fascinating,
in part because everything about it is a departure from the norm for you. And that's a compliment, BTW! Don't worry about the time element either. Clearly the finished product will be worth the wait.

Later...
Joan

Wow Dave ,

This is unique indeed , and extremely good !  Can't see something wrong .

&apls &apls &apls

The Lion on the car is a scene I already saw at the free-roam zoo of Sigean (near my home ) except that it was a bear ... and most of all , not my car !  ;D

I'm an huge fan of details - you know that - and pictures ... enough details here , but not enough pictures .  ;D

I'll be back to see your progresses .

Cédric .
