Jag får nog instämma i förhoppningen om att det är snö vi ser på kyrkbilden, för regn vill jag inte se något av förrän till våren...
Just nu är det rena vinteridyllen med nästan knähögt snödjup i trädgården vilket nog inte hänt sedan jag var liten i början av 80-talet.
Gott nytt år och en god fortsättning tillönskas härmed både du och dina "undersåtar"!

Fast appropå förnyelseabr energi så har ni väl en del biogasproduktion i Linköping också?
Jag läste någonstans att Östgötatrafiken som upphandlar busstrafiken i Linköping inte vill upphandla tillverkning och leverans av biogas till bussarna på det sätt som EU och konkurrensverket vill?

Congratulations on Your "moving on up" as M-people so well put it some 15-20 years ago (suddenly I´m starting to feel somewhat old)!
I have to agree with RippleJet that we hope it´s not rain we´re seeing in the pic with the church, I don´t want to see any rain until spring...
Right now the snow is about kneehigh in my garden which I can´t remember happening for the last 25 years or so.

Speaking of renewable energysources there is an affair going on in the County where Riiga lives where the transit authority is in dispute with the EU over the way the gas used to power their buses is being bought.
In theory the local transit authority has a point in that they want the gas to be produced locally in order to minimize the environmental impact, but the EU thinks otherwise since it´s a rather large contract worth quite a lot of money...

Swesim: Ja, som jag skrev till RippleJet så är det snö på bilden, för regn är det sist vi vill ha. Angående biogasupphandlingen så var det en stor artikel om det i lokaltidningen. Det var tydligen så att Östgötatrafiken hade köpt biogas av Svensk biogas som i sin tur ägs av Tekniska verken som är ett kommunalt ägt bolag. Så det blev som att kommunen köpte biogas av sig själv ungefär.

Translation for non-swedes: Appearently Östgötatrafiken (owned by the county) who operates the buses in my hometown, purchased biofuel from Svensk biogas which is owned by Tekniska verken (owned by the municipality). This roughly means that municipality bought biofuel from itself.

Till att börja med vill jag tacka Robin och övriga som utsett mig till OSITM. Det är en ära att få den möjligheten, så jag tänkte ta vara på den nu när jag fått den. Nu till första OSITM-uppdateringen!
To begin with, I'd once again like to thank Robin and the SC4D Staff for picking me as OSITM. I'm honored, and I will do my best to take full advantage of this opportunity. And now, the first OSITM update!


Eftersom Västerköping vuxit sig stort så tänkte jag att vi skulle ta en titt på en liten mindre stad.
Since you've probably seen all of Västerköping, let's take a look at another smaller city.

Gratulerar till OSITM utnämningen, det var jättekul att se!
Plinghem låter misstänkt likt en viss "förort" till Linköping, så jag misstänker att inspirationen kommer därifrån... 
Congratulations on Your OSITM, it is great to see this MD there!
Plinghem sounds very much like the RL Linghem which is a smaller community close to Linköping here in Sweden, so I suspect that Riiga has gotten some inspiration from there...

Kul att se lite upphöjd järnväg, själv tycker jag det är lite knepigt att använda då det inte finns så många stationer som passar.
It is interesting to see how You use elevated heavy rail, I don´t use it much since it usually doesn´t fit in my cities and doesn´t have very many stations made for it either.

Tjing för att inte bo i småhusen närmast höghusen i nedre delen av bilden, snacka om insyn... 
I wouldn´t want to live in the houses closest to the midrises in the lower part of the image due to the lack of privacy.

The layout of your region well-crafted.  The region is primarily rural/suburban and low-rise, but I like that it's not endless sprawl.  I like the mix of trees and development.  On page 5, I especially like the windmills in the middle of the farms.

I gotta say you're doing a fantastic job here.  The rail overpass pic in the last update was my favorite.

Also, nice work on that toll booth once again!

Very nice update indeed!  That diagonal railway over the avenue looks particularly impressive, especially because of the brickwork at the footings!  I'm looking forward to seeing what else you've got coming for this month!

Swesim: Visst får jag mycket inspiration av områden där jag bor. Plinghem var en snabb nödlösning då jag under uppdateringen kom på att jag inte hade något namn på den förorten. 

Angående stationer för järnvägsviadukter så la SFBT upp en på LEX i julas.
Regarding stations for rail viaducts, the SFBT released one during their adventskalender (Länk / Link)

OSITM 2 - Österköping flygplats igen / Österköping Airport revisited

Det var ett tag sedan vi tog en titt på den, men nu är Österköping flygplats äntligen färdigbyggd! Vilket bättre sätt att inviga en flygplats än med en flygtur? Man tog iallafall en stor flygbild över hela flygplatsen som mäter drygt 5300x3400 pixlar.
It's been awhile since we visited Österköping Airport, so I thought we should make a revisit. This time though, the airport is finished and what better way to visit an airport than by plane? Below is a large aerial view of the airport.

Snart märkte man dock att parkeringsplatserna var underdimensionerade och var tvungen att bygga ut:

That photo took a long time to load, but it was worth it.

Excellent job riiga!  It gave me a lot of ideas in airport design!  I also like the medley of roundabouts that serve the airport.

I see some big planes too!  Any chance of adding some A380s in there to make it even more epic?
