Good stuff Jayster. Word to the wise: I use CP's middle and upper class houses extensively. Instead of trying to grow those 1x3 lots and bulldozing over and over again, I have a lot of luck zoning 3x3 a lot, even not on corners. The lots are "small 19th century neighborhood" and look great and so diverse. There are a few different lot configurations too (all are awesome). Just an idea, though I'm sure you already know. Love the neighborhood. We have similar styles for sure and I love it.

RickD: Thank you very much for the kind words!
cubby420: Actually, I didn't know that. I actually think that those are harder to grow because the houses I wasn't able to edit the tile set for (all of MattB325 modern mansions) LOVE the 3x3 and the 2x3 lot configurations. Thanks for the comment!

Hmm.... only two comments, that's pretty sad...

Anyways, I have a preview for you guys. An update will be out this weekend and it will be showing the completed town of Parkson's Stretch.

Tell me what you guys think! And PLEASE comment!

Looks great :) Ive been trying to find those kind of seawalls for a while, but havent had any luck ... Do you remember where you found them?

io_bg

Fantastic teaser! I like the way you've raised the boardwalk. Looking forward to the full update!

It looks nice, accept for the water. It looks strange right there on the edge of the sea wall... ??? Other than that, though, it's an awesome pic! I can't wait for the update. :)

travismaking: These are a relot of Marrast's Embankment set. The originals can be found on the STEX. I did the relot.  $%Grinno$%
io_bg: Thank you very much for the compliment!
Nego: I had issues with getting the water to blend nicely with the walls after I photoshopped them. Oh well, I added more photoshopping then I normally do. Thanks for the comment!
Sciurus: Thank you very much!

And now, the moment we've all been waiting for, I present to you the completed town of Parkson's Stretch.

(Not actually completed in this picture) This was the last neighborhood to deal with, and it was the hardest.

Here is the center of the town, the small office building was a poor decision on the city planners behalf as it is somewhat of an eye sore.

Here is the main road into the town, the train tracks were raised here instead of having the goofy elevated road going it. Despite the fact that it cost well into the millions to do, it has improved traffic and it looks better as well.

Here is the redone neighborhood. There are only highwealth people living in this neighborhood.

Some detail of the neighborhood.

This is the new train station that was built for the city. The city still has the other station but it doesn't get much use because of it's location.

Old station.

Small little beach access near a waterfront trail.

Overview shot of the cities boardwalk.

I hoped you enjoyed this update, once again, please comment!

Like I said in the competition thread, I am in love with this town.  &apls Your best so far in my opinion! And I see you've used a few of c.p.'s 3x3's  ;)

The town center is great and that solution for the diagonal intersection of rail and road is perfect...adds plenty of character.

Gorgeous work as always!  Sorry I've missed so many great updates this month!  I really like how your waterfront turned out!

Thanks to everyone who has commented so far!

As I've been looking back at my MD in the short time it has been here, I have been noticing a trend. There seems to be a general lack of interest in the work I'm doing. I hope that that isn't the case. I'd like to know what the communities thoughts are on this and if they have any suggestions on what I should do for future updates. I've only gotten about ~16 comments or so in this month and that comes out to about 1 every two days.

I would really like to know what you guys want to see and how to make my MD even better so that it doesn't get pushed aside in the short amount of time it has been up.

I'll look at getting an update out this weekend, one final update for my O.S.I.T.M.

Replies next update.

Jayster,

I like what your doing. It's very nice.  I like how c.p.'s houses look throught the suburbs as well. I would really like to see a region view to see everything. possibly?...  ::)

I've noticed an all-around lack of comments everywhere. I think it's just a dead period in the community. I wouldn't worry about it.

Lastly, this is a game, SC4. The point is to have fun with the game and to have fun with what you are doing. Even have fun just plain writing your MD. If no one comments so be it. As long as I enjoyed the art of building my city, then I feel it was all worth while. You should too.

Don't worry that there is a lack of comments, Jayster. Like marsh said, it's been really quiet around the community lately.

Your Mayor Diary is fantastic! You don't have to worry about it getting pushed aside at all. Your Mayor Diary has been read over 3000 times! And every one of your updates has only been an improvement from the last one. You know, they don't give out the O.S.I.T.M. award to just anybody! ;) Remember, your MD is just awesome (O.S.I.T.M). :D

Can't wait for your next update! &apls &apls &apls

P.S. Don't forget to add update 11 to your table of contents. :P

Just clicked through your journal and I have to say this is some good work. There are some really nice scenic drives in it and your little town is charming. Keep up the great work and don't worry about the comments.

Very beautiful town Jayster.  The town center, seawall, coastal houses, and railway bridge all look great.

Nice idea for this elevated rail line, also I love the way to get to the station. that town looks quite wonderful. I love the seventh picture. Excellent work overall during your Of Special Interest This Month.

Take care,
-Arthur.
I'll take a quiet life... A handshake of carbon monoxide.

I have not been so active on this community (been more active on Simtropolis). But I just found your MD and I must say it's very very good! Love every picture of your city and I would like to build as nice cities as that some day! :)

Keep up the good work my friend!  ;D &apls

I certainly do like it! The photoshopping is of a very standard, and the freat base image doesn't hurt either!
