Wonderful two updates of Highsbury there! It looks really nice!
And the rural area is also very nice! Looking forward to more... ;)

Well then, since the old thread's placement was perhaps a bit confusing, I've decided to move my GRV playing over to my Mayor Diary.
Also, I've decided not to continue with the strict version, so I will now be having fun playing the excellent GRV map to my own desire. So please, no ratings of my work at all, as I will no longer stick to the challenges. Also, to avoid any further confusion, I will now no longer use the name GRV in this thread at all, instead I will use the name Boyle - Mariotte, as this the name of the region in-game. ;)

Hope you enjoy it  :)

Transit Map. As you can see, it's based on the strict version.

Satellite Map

A small roadmap that I made using Illustrator and the SC4 Terraformer. I'm was working on an altitude map, but it failed miserably. Oh well...

A picture showing mostly Port Craig, which is on the Mariotte side of the Conflict River. (The name of this river has a large history behind it, which I will tell you later on..)

A railway loop/interchange in Port Craig, just after the bridge. One side of this interchange leads to Liberty International, which is also visible on the transit map. [Railway 10 intersects with Railway 11]

The Cookley side of things, it's energy and water suppliers still standing out...

With some financial aid from UNESCO (Boyle is the poorest of both states), the government was able to construct a hiking path on the mountain, which requires a name...

An overview of how the Cookley - Port Craig tile has developed to date.

That's all for today yesterday. Please leave a comment  ::)

More is coming up soon..

EDIT: Unfortunately all pictures are gone. Sorry.

Wait a sec, did I spot avenues on tile D? If so, this will be a violation to the rules, because it says you cannot build boulevards (read: avenues) in your region or anything that can be easily transformed into a highway. Keep that in mind, because I think this rule also counts for unofficial players.

Best,
Maarten

Well, you're right.. it is an avenue (although it shouldn't be one.. I actually changed it into a road, but it somehow didn't save). However, it's part of my freeplay mode, in which I completely neglect any rules or challenges that have been set up, and instead just build to my own liking  ::)

The only part that should be looked at for the actual competition would be the strict part, in which I will follow the rules as well as possible.

very nice stuff, i find you images abit oversaturated but content wise, they are splendid...
NAM + CAM + RAM + SAM, that's how I roll....

mrbisonm

Very nice what you have done sofar, but unfortunetly we cannot give you any points for this as challenge 1 or challenge 1 and 2 or whatever (challenges should be in different posts). First, many rules are not respected  and second too many roads, not started to build in an acceptable tile and too many pics not clear to see what is what.

If you want us to give you the same points as others, you will have to respect the rules and the challenges with details as if you were officially playing.

Nice job though.

Fred

....Uploading the MFP 1.... (.........Finishing the MFP1)

mightygoose

fred he has two parallel regions, the first is where he is following our rules, and is very modest the second is just him freeplaying the region... that will teach you to skim read :P

LoL Its all good there Fred!!! Casper like what you are doing in Free play but could i suggest maybe doing another thread with the free play? Just a thought so it would alleviate any confusion...

great rural areas there Casper, that looking excellent.
But I think the use of those seawalls is not adapted around farm fields.  ;)

Take Care,

Arthur. ;)

*coughs* ugh, a lot of dust seems to have gathered here, looks like my attic...

Well, after a long time of inactivity, I felt that it was time to revive good old Casper's Portfolio, to start a new chapter. This time around, I will be highlighting Juno County, a fictional, arid, undeveloped area at the Gulf Coast of Texas during it's slow development into a medium-sized city.

I will be using dobdriver's excelllent map of the Juno WWII landing beach from his Historical Selections Map Pack, Tarkus' Wasco Terrain Mod and c.p.'s Painted Desert/Moab Tree Mod as well as the CAM & NAM (slighty edited for less farm dilapidation) and of course a lot of growable and plopable content by various authors and some custom lots.

To get this started, here are some pictures I took during development of the first city tile.. in await of the full update with how things are right now (which will no doubt come today or tomorrow)

Hope you liked it, and check back later for more!

I resized your pics - Robin  ;)

Update 1: Overviewing Juno...

Promised you all a small overview of how Juno is shaping up at the moment: but as a picture says more than a thousand words; what's more fitting than a mosaic, showing most of the current development... Oh, if your monitor/internet connection can handle it, feel free to click the image for a larger version!

Hope you like it, more will come soon!

art128: Thanks! I hope to keep this feel as long as possible, but eventually Juno will have to grow up instead of outwards ;)
Tomas Neto: Thanks!

Update 2: Some Commercial & Industrial Activity too...
Another mosaic, if you look closely you might see that it continues where the previous one left off..

Hope you like it!
