Well, I guess for the citizens, ignorance really is Bliss. :D  With the regime to do everything for them, they don't have to have a care in the world ;).  That Mt. Bliss is quite a sight.  Does the regime by any chance have some secret stuff under/in the mountain?  That would be the perfect place for something  . . . covert.  Keep on stifling your citizens, for their own good of course. ;)

The Regime responds to the latest comments:

Thundercrack83: Thank you. We love taking care of our citizens. And as our number of subjects just increased to 7 million, our way of zoning has turned out to be more effective than we thought.

Bat: Thank you. Your comment about our pictures is currently used to encourage our drones in our Ministery of Propaganda.

Mattb325: Stifling and ghastly, yes, perhaps, but the people insist We keep it that way. And We live to serve our people. But thank you for the commendation.

Filasimo: Your prophecy has prompted us to arrest every citizen bearing that name. They were all shot while trying to escape, and the use of the name Neo has for ever been banned.

Tooheys: Thank you. Brown is such a lovely colour. And Mount Bliss still patiently awaits its first climber, were it not for the fact that climbing is forbidden, as it is considered a far too dangerous occupation for our fragile subjects.

Tarkus: Thank you, our people are so happy... Mount Bliss hides nothing in it, only behind it, such as hospitals, regarded too ugly to be placed where We can see them...

...while looking at our space shuttle blasting off into space...

...where it makes this high altitude observation of some of our plantations out in the region, where the ashes from our cremated subjects are used as fertilizer...

...because tons of ashes are produced every day in an average underground crematorium and has to be disposed of somewhere, and We gladly admit the smoke is never purified before entering the air, since it would only confuse our subjects to see smokestacks without visible smoke, not to mention odour-free smoke...

...but other structures in Bliss fill a more glorious purpose, such as this...

...the first embassy building ever to grace our fair land, currently empty with the exception of Secret Police-appointed decorators furnishing it with hidden microphones and cameras, but intended to be filled to the brim with diplomatic activities if and when a foreign power should decide to provide us with an ambassador for questioning diplomatic relations.

More is to come.

End of communication.

Filasimo

u may have killed all the neos but there are others the oracle has seen it and prophecy will be fulfilled the one who will do it is miso who will do whatever costs to break the people free

mattb325

Magnanimous indeed. Doubtless the subjects were initially afraid to view something so alien in the city: thankfully you fenced it off with razor wire.

bat

That is a big downtown there, but great! Nice picture of the farms! The other pictures are also fantastic! Like the last picture!

Tarkus

Russell, more delightfully subversive humor and fantastic SC4 shots--that's a really unique city.  Truly awesome.  Looks like with that second rocket launch, you'll probably have a new crop of "souvenirs". Yay!  Tell the regime to have fun with their "diplomacy".

Almost surreal in its apperance, Bliss is mighty impressive and at times hilariously funny.

Filasimo: You just managed to get everyone named Miso arrested and shot while trying to escape. So much for your prophecy.

Rooker1: Glad you appreciate the humour. Not everyone does.

Mattb325: The item to which you refer has been removed, both from this MD and Bliss itself. But thank you anyway.

Bat: Thank you. The plantations do make a picturesque contribution to the monotonous mass of city images. But they are rather dull.

Tarkus: Glad you enjoy this. Your message to the Regime has been delivered, and the answer was that they intend to demolish the embassy building and replace it with housing, since no other regime has expressed any wish to appoint an ambassador to Bliss.

Kwaakelar: Your first comment in this MD, thank you for that. And thank you for those kind words.

HAPPY CITIZEN SELECTED FOR TARGET PRACTICE

Citizen Ivana Ostrowski, 67, claims to be "thrilled in ways I cannot explain" when surprised with the news that our glorious Regime has chosen her as a prime target for the very first test-firing of the cannons on our new battleship.

"I never knew my beloved Regime had a battleship until now", citizen Ostrowski says, "and I realize they have to take it out for a test shot before letting it out into the ocean". She wipes away a tear of joy and declares: "Oooh, I'm so proud and happy they chose me as a target, I can hardly believe it's true!"

Citizen Ostrowski, residing in this neighbourhood, where people are rumoured to be just as happy as she is over the imminent target shooting, says that she feels a tremendous joy knowing she will contribute to the glory of Bliss by being blown up by the all-new battleship, and continues: "I feel happy knowing that Bliss now has joined the league of seafaring nations with this technologically advanced benemoth, the second glorious craft in our arsenal after the space shuttle." Then she bursts out into tears of happiness and ends by stating: "All hail the Regime!"

And while the guns on the battleship are being prepared to be fired for the very first time, and citizen Ostrowski is being sedated and tied to a chair by the Secret Police as not to ruin this solemn occasion by trying to flee, should panic overcome her in the last minute, we leave this scenario for now, but shall soon return with details regarding its progress.

tooheys

Mate, these navy guys must be well trained, to hit a person sitting in a chair is a pretty good shot. What sort of range are we talking about? I'm only asking in case Balnavia has to defend itself someday.

Great pic's as usual, do we get to see the actual test or is the news of this test being supressed.

Cheers

Dave

We are sad today, so our thank you to Tooheys and Urban are kept short - and Rooker1, you can find the ships here: http://hide-inoki.com/~nob/lot.htm

Citizen Ostrowski was eventually spared...

...but her house was not – it was blown up according to plans, thus helping the cannons onboard the battleship to improve their accuracy, but the destruction was far worse than the Regime had anticipated...

...and as far as citizen Ostrowski is concerned, in recognition for her service to the Regime, she was promoted captain on this fabulous destroyer, a recent addition to our glorious fleet, onboard which she now lives a happy life operating heavy machinery and toying with ammunition.

thundercrack83

Wow! Sorry to hear about Citizen Ostrowski's home, but of course the benevolent regime was able to compensate her! Great update, as always, Russell!

Gaston

I am very happy to see that Citizen Ostrowski's neighbors could also help the Regime.    Through the great sacrifice of it's citizens, the regime will make everyone happy.

Something fishy here  &mmm First the Regime plans to kill the poor woman by cannon fire. This was obviously too hard a target so they swapped to her house and in the attempt blew up the entire neighbourhood!! I suspect that she was an informer who ratted on her neighbours for some infraction against the Regime. She was rewarded and they, well, became more fertiliser for the farms. Of course I could be paranoid and your Navy are just bad shots  :P

Nice update and look forward to more oppression.

Cheers
