I was not talking about the pop, which I expected to be high judging all your pics, but man you run your city for 5500 years !
By itself it should be record
The industrial is depressing, but I think the population is happy enough to not be loss with unknown building.

And what a lovely serene surrounding the City of Serene is! Mother regime watching down on her law abiding minions in total calm. it is just lovely. And what is that? an opera? isn't that dangerous? could it not corrupt the minds of the Serenians Russel? ;)

or is it for the party barons of the Regime alone? ()stsfd()

Strechnitz.

meldolion

Wonderful update!
I really like the city of Serene... it's so...... Serene :D

rooker1

Super update.  To get so many buildings the same, I wander how much you have in your pluggins folder, or do you use the Block Modd?
As for the canon are you sure it was an accident?  I heard a rumour about a mole in the area.

wow, the regime built another city and no one knew %confuso, the regime seems to be very good at developing and hiding things ;)

I hope we will see more the things I see are great

Filasimo: Thanks. After this update, we'll go along with what we have planned.

Patfirefghtr: Thank you. The Regime never makes mistakes, so any "accidental" gunfiring always has a purpose. But officially, thery are of course dismissed as accidents. Perhaps an answer to the question why the Regime shoots at its own city one day will be provided.

Wouanagaine: Thanks. But 5500 years, is that long? I did not know that.

Strechnitz: On behalf of the people of Serene: thank you ever so much. And yes, it is an opera, but not used as one, since music and stage performances are illegal.

Meldolion: Thank you - you are welcome to join Serene and feel the serenity  :)

Rooker1: Thank you very much. Yes, I use the Block Modd, very handy when it comes to creating a sort of victorian-looking industrial area. And about the cannon, I feel the need to make an update explaining why the Regime fires at its own people. But that will have to wait.

Urban: Thank you - a new city, that will come as a surprise to the Blissians too. By the way, hiding things are a speciality of the Regime, as the Regime itself remains hidden.

In Bliss, the replica of the San Francisco City Hall houses both the Secret Police and the administrators responsible for enforcing the decisions by the Regime...

...decisions such as creating a whole new city like the city of Serene, the purpose of which is to increase the regional population and of course expand the power of the Regime...

...and Serene undoubtedly is a Bliss lookalike with the exception of features unique for Serene, such as these apartment buildings...

...and the villa to the right...

...and this fountain containing sulphuric acid to prevent pigeons from swarming around and bathing in it, thus making it possible for the happy citizens to enjoy the sound of pouring water without fear of being attacked by birds...

...and eventually we have this: a copy of the opera house in Manaus, Brazil...

...but since music is forbidden by the Regime (may cause tinnitus or in other ways disturb its beloved subjects), it is used as a surveillance center where activities throughout the city are carefully monitored by the Secret Police...

...and somewhere in this opera house, happy citizen Seymour Butts, 47, (blindfolded to protect his eyes from the strong lamp), spends time with the authorities and feels compelled to make this following statement: "Serene is a lovely place. I urge everyone reading this MD to move here immediately and join us happy citizens in our worship of the Regime, our true and righteous masters. All hail the Regime!"

Filasimo

great update Russell never knew there were some good sides to Bliss other than the Regime...i actually have a friend who lives in Bliss and there is starting to be some rumors of a possible group of uprisers headed by Morpheus...does this mean the Regime will fall?

Moving to Bliss??? If you sell me the bigger mansion or a condo in the highest building I will think about coming once or twice a year "$Deal"$ But my inhabitants prefer living on the Antilles and so do I. And there are some rumors that some of the most important people of Bliss have been seen on the Airport in Montauk and at the Mango Bay Resort  &Thk/(

PS: 150th post on that great MD

Brilliant idea! Keep those pigeons away!

Great update, as always, Russell. And congratulations on 150 comments!

Always also nice

I'm sure that the pigeons that fall foul of the acid would probably make a reasonable meal for any citizen that got to them in time before they totally eroded away. Not that I'm saying that the citizens are going hungry.

Russell, this is always good and always unique.

Great couple of updates.

Cheers

Dave

Russell

Filasimo: Yes, the Regime have heard about these rumours and feel rather worried that there may be a rebellion. "$Deal"$

Belfastuniguy: Thank you very much. That comment is used in propagandistic purposes.

Urban: Thank you - the Regime has tracked down those members observed at the airport in Montauk and at the Mango Bay Resort and questioned them severely, as it is not allowed to while away valuable time in tropical surroundings without proper permission - or even with.

Cleaner475: Thank you for your first comment, and welcome to Bliss!  :)

Patfirefghtr: Thank you, but Seymour Butts meant every word and was not forced to say them, not at all  ;)

Bat: Thank you - and I do believe the pictures would be better if I only could master the technique of mosaics...  &mmm

Rooker1: Thank you, Serene only plays a minor part in this endless drama, so it won't be seen that often. Which is sad, because it was much more fun to work with than Bliss.

Thundercrack83: Thank you - and those pigeons are becoming increasingly rare  ;)

Snaper: Thank you, it is my intention to reach 10,000 years  "$Deal"$

Tooheys: Thank you Dave - and acid pigeon is considered quite the delicacy in Serene these days  ;D

"Greetings happy citizens!"

"The magical box called Radio brings you the latest news from the Ministry of Propaganda, the instrument through which our benevolent Regime tells you, its beloved subjects, the truth and nothing but the truth. All hail the Regime!"

"We begin by bringing you some sad news."

"During yet another unfortunate incident involving accidental gunfire from our foremost pride and joy, the battleship, the statue of Mother Regime was destroyed."

"Many happy citizens were killed, but the only casualty worthy of tears is Mother Regime. She will of course be rebuilt. Rumors claim that this was an intentional explosion designed to eliminate certain unruly subjects living in proximity to Mother Regime, but that is not true. It was purely accidental. And as a consequence, it has been decided to permanently withdraw the battleship from active service."

"'Bliss is looking better than ever', stated the honourable Belfastuniguy after touring our vast city, and perhaps it looks even better now after a grand brand new underground crematorium has been inaugurated."

"This grand brand new underground crematorium is more than capable of incinerating all those criminals who are shot while trying to escape, not to mention all those happy citizens who fall prey to such various mishaps as accidents in our glorious industries, car crashes, unplanned gunfire from our celebrated battleship or the blast from our splendid space shuttle."

"And finally, culture blesses Bliss. In proximity to the grand brand new underground crematorium, the Regime has re-created the two museums and the library from old Bliss to offer you happy citizens exhibitions of Regime artifacts and a total of 3,285000 books, all describing our beloved Regime. Those of you borrowing a book will participate in a contest where the lucky winner gets one half hour off from work."

"We end by reporting that in our fair sister city of Serene, nothing happens.

And kindly remember that the hidden microphones and surveillance cameras in your apartments are there for your own safety, so do not remove them!

That is all for now. Until next time: work harder, faster, better, and all hail the Regime!"

Strechnitz

Hail to the Regime!

Bliss is fine as always. What a sorry loss mother regime's destruction is &mmm
But with the zeal and perseverance of Bliss I bet she is restored in no time. surpassing the grandeur and glory of the old statue no doubt.

I really like the way you have started to use pictures in your MD Russel. they heighten the atmosphere. a golden choice you make out of them too! I love it.
