Ohh Russell indeed it was a very blissful day of the 4th of July thank you...  WoW the gods sure do like to
have places to be worshiped an all that... Anther thought why it was good to justice in getting ride of
the loop and all citizens in the area is because that why all new citizens that move in the new area think its
business as usual...  will come back to Bliss soon - pat

It's good to see that the citizens were spared undue distress by their sudden firey deaths, the Gods were certainly
looking after them &mmm.

But I am concerned, first the battleship, then the loop and now the space shuttle. What will be next to go? /wrrd%&

One thing though, I can't wait to see how the shuttle is decommissioned. it's sure to be big  :o

Nice work Russell. The photos are great but it's the story that brings it all together.
Do you think there will ever be a book, "The Chronicles of Bliss".

Cheers

O_O

The Gods have so much power, that they moved the Mount Bliss, that's amazing

Respect to the Gods, since they create and control this amazing nation

Travis: Thanks, and yes, it was rather unfortunate for those living around the loop - but the stress of having to move would indeed have been worse for them.  ;)

Rooker1: Thank you, and I quite agree about the stress.  ;)

Thundercrack83: Yes, it is a very large city. Almost too large. How 8 million people can live on such a small surface is a mystery. &mmm

Patfirefghtr:  Yes, you're right.  :)

Tooheys: Thank you, good of you to write such a nice comment. We'll just have to wait and see what will come after the battleship, the loop and the space shuttle.  "$Deal"$

Urban: Thank you for those grand and kind words  :). And please say hello to the President of the Durewan Antilles from the ruling Gods of Bliss.

Ah, the revered old space shuttle, here taking off for the very last time – how to dismantle this imposing vehicle after the ruling Gods of Bliss had decided they no longer needed it?

Just having it fall apart like the copy of the San Francisco City Hall fell apart was not considered a serious option, since that, quite frankly, was a rather dull method of removing one of Bliss' most prominent features.

And blowing it up like the loop was blown up did indeed seem like a tempting alternative, but so soon after the loop-incident, another explosion would only be an unimaginative repetition.

So instead, the space shuttle was simply removed. Just like that. Removed without a trace, leaving behind it a large, empty square.

The happy citizens of Bliss looked at the empty square where the space shuttle had stood, amazed that such a hefty thing as a space shuttle could just... vanish, and were of course also amazed that such a thing as a large empty square suddenly existed in their densely built city.

But the empty square was of course built on in a hurry...

...and today, nothing exists that serves as a reminder of this tiny chapter in Bliss' history, or Blisstory.

Pat

LoL russell who would have thought that just vanishes hmmm not me lol... good one very good - pat

Strechnitz

Strechnitz: Thank you very much, your praise is deeply appreciated – and who knows, because His Holy Imperial Majesty Jerome IV is a living saint, the Gods might just consider constructing a temple in his honor to enforce the good relationship between Bliss and Stropon...  "$Deal"$[/b][/i]

Well my dear Russel. If the good and wise pantheon of Blissful gods would do Stropon and her Holy Imperial Ruler the immense honor of constructing a temple for His Holy Imperial Majesty glory. We, the whole Empire would feel happily obliged to return the favour and construct a magnificent temple devoted to the Olympus of the almighty Gods of Bliss.

And further even! :blahblah:

The Lord High Chancellor Clauwenbach is in that case, prepared to, under the rules of the charter of freedom of religion, to add Blissianism on the list of accepted religions thus making it possible for the Stroponian people to convert to blissianism and worship your olympus of the Almighty Gods of Bliss. and if Blissians were to travel to Stropon in the future. they would not have to do without their beloved deities. and continue to worship as if nothing has changed.

We from the Stroponian government can not tollerate that your secret police install microphones and bugs on our Stroponian soil. however... for the temple we'll make a happy exception for we understand that for bliss, bugging and tapping are not merely ways of information gathering, like it is to us. But a part of your culture and heritage, and therfor allowed in the temple itself :wings:

Strechnitz.

Patfirefghtr: Thank you, and yes, it is rather strange that such a large object could just vanish into thin air. &Thk/(

Tooheys: Thank you, and we do hope you find the magnificent flying war machine a worthy substitute for the space shuttle.

Strechnitz: as you can see in this hastily composed update, the temple is finished and available for those Blissians eager to revere an imperial saint. And the almighty Gods of Bliss have expressed their delight at having the opportunity to be worshipped in the noble empire of Stropon and even have their way of life elevated to the list of accepted religions. They agree, with slight reluctance, to let carefully selected happy citizens pay Stropon a visit. However, the happy citizens venturing out into the unknown will of course be implanted with a tracking device and followed closely by Secret Police-officials. And as for our proud history of surveillance, we are glad you understand and acknowledge it.

The happy citizens all leave their homes...

...to worship the ruling Gods of Bliss in their temples – this, the first one built many years ago, is still the largest...

...but no longer the only temple in Bliss - this one was constructed after the realization that it is difficult for just one temple to hold more than eight million worshippers...

...and then came a string of smaller temples...

...those to the left are dedicated to the lesser Gods of the Regime, and the least important ones are merely represented by statues...

...but more notable is the divinity to whom the upper temple is dedicated: His Holy Imperial Majesty Jerome Victor IV, living saint and ruler of the Empire of Stropon, a nation with which Bliss has the finest of relations, whereas the smaller one below...

...is dedicated to the God ruling over military matters, here seen commanding an officer to go ahead with the debut of...

...this magnificent flying war machine, constructed as a gift to the happy citizens from their ruling Gods...

...to celebrate Bliss' very first step into the seventieth century, another grand happening in Blisstory.

Ah, Russell. What can I say since I was last here?

That flying machine is a benevolent gift of impending destruction indeed!

It was a pleasure seeing inside the Olympus and I must note that your citizens certainly do look far more content when pictured in black & white or sepia tones as opposed to technicolor. ???

tooheys

Now that is a fine substitute for the space shuttle .

But..um.. what do they do with there "waste". My suggestion to the happy citizens, don't look up. You thought the pigeons were bad  ;D

Nice work with the temples and canals. Another great update.

Cheers

Dave

Emperor Stormont

my my.....

Loving the fact the rulers of Bliss are now gods, fantastic turn of events indeed. For some reason the flying battleship doesn't look in anyway out of place, something hard to do with a non-sci-fi MD.

Loving your work and as always await more MD delight from the Gods of Bliss  :satisfied:

Again a wonderful update, Russell! Great work!

Strechnitz

A floating battleship. my my. Oh and why not? &apls

BTW, is this type of ship for sale? or the respectie technology? I mean, a military parade with a battleship "hovering" above the paradesquare is probably a sight to behold. ;D

At least it is something different from the usual coloured stripes made by fighter squadrons. %wrd

Nice update Russel!

Filasimo: Thanks for stopping by and commenting. About the rebel group Zion... I don't know what to do with that, really.  &mmm

Thundercrack83: Yes, ominous indeed.  >:D And thank you - I hope you'll continue to find Bliss amazing.

Mattb325: Thank you for that elegant comment  :) Yes, the flying machine is a promise of destruction, as you'll see in this update. As far as the citizens are concerned, I don't know if they're "content", but at least they look good in the pictures.  :satisfied:

Tooheys: Thanks, and you're right: what to do with the waste? Very tricky indeed...  &Thk/( Glad you appreciate the temples and canals - I really enjoy using them.

Belfastuniguy: What a grand comment, thank you very much   :) - and yes, you're right: the battleship looks just natural hanging in the air over Bliss, I didn't realize that until you mentioned it.

Rooker1: Robin, the Gods allow you to say whatever you want, whenever you want - you're more than welcome to do so.  :) And thank you for commenting.

Bat: Thank you, glad you like what I do.  :satisfied:

Strechnitz: Another one praising the flying war machine  :). For sale, perhaps, ask the Emperor to make the Gods an offer they can't refuse - it does make a striking addition to any city, and leaves no boring coloured stripes after it either  ;). Glad you stopped by, and glad you liked the uppdate.

TheTeaCat: Just when I was about to post my update, your kind comment arrived - thank you ever so much.  :)

Inside the Olympus...

...the self-proclaimed Gods both feel and look rather bored with their almighty rule over Bliss, especially when dealing with bureaucratic matters concerning such dull institutions as...

...the Ministry of Cremations...

...the Ministry of Industry...

...the Ministry of Propaganda...

...and the Ministry of Science, where scientists develop such gadgets as...

...the flying war machine, the earlier mentioned gift from the ruling Gods to their happy citizens in celebration of Bliss' 7000 years in existence...

...a vehicle propelled by antigravity and equipped with fins to give it a sort of "speedy" look, although it mostly just hangs motionless in the air...

...and onboard, stormtroopers in service of the jaded Gods break the seal to the recently issued Holy Command, ordering them to open fire against one of the industrial districts...

...both to relieve the boredom of the Gods, who observe the explosions on their monitors, and to reduce the surplus of industrial capacity in the region...

...and while this drastic method of entertaining the Gods can be heard echoing through the region, new temples in their honor continue to appear...

...whereas the temple of His Holy Imperial Majesty Jerome Victor IV is tarnished by scandal...

...after a happy citizen caught the two high priests (still in their ceremonial garments) frolicking with a group of vestal virgins – and while the high priests answer to charges of soiling the Holy Emperors name with their conduct, the happy citizens access to the temple is restricted to one day a week*...

*Comprehensible, I believe, only to Strechnitz

...but that is of no relevance to the destruction of the area with the Chinese library and temple...

...which, when explained to the happy citizens, was caused by the wrongful aiming of grenades intended for an industrial district, but in reality was a way to disperse the tediousness of the Gods...

...who also found relief in restoring the area to its original state, with the exception of...

...an observatory to study other regions portrayed in other MD's...

...and, of course, a temple.

Pat

Russell what a most intresting update... i knew the destruction was coming of something LoL...  :D
