TTC,

Just a bit of an update on the freight truck counting done by the game. I can confirm that the game rounds up to the next whole number when calculating the number of freight trucks that leave an industrial building. Tonight, I was paying close attention the Route Query and the jobs available for each one of the industrial lots in my city.

I added up the numbers and multiplied them by 0.05 for each clump of industrial buildings. A clump is one anchor lot where the freight trucks enter a roadway and the surrounding industrial lots that are "attached" to the anchor lot. I checked multiple clumps, and they all returned the same result: that the game rounds up the numbers when trying to determine the number of freight trucks that leave an anchor building.

Got your cuppa? Sitting comfortably? Then we'll begin this update.

Welcome once again.

A very big thank you to all visitors to TatTT.It been a month of ups and downs.  It was magnificent to receive the "of Special Interest Award" and just as things were starting to take off, then  losing so much data. :'(  All your encouragement and friendship helped me thru' a difficult time.

The stories and tales are being collated at the moment as I couldn't tell you stories if I didn't have a town. I couldn't build a town without a region so it had to start from there but now we have some residents in a little town called Cowley. I don't have the tales ready yet because I gotta interview the residents but so far I got some juicy gossip ;D

So as a way of saying thanks to you all I have some pics of the town and the last post for the month  ::) here is a special update.

Its just the beginning so this is a mostly pictorial update with some gems thrown in for good measure. :D

Personal Replies.

Gaston: Thank you my friend. It was was a pleasure to bestow some ()stsfd(). For the spray effect its trial and plop and 'doze and trial and plop and 'doze and trial and plop and 'doze and trial and plop and 'doze and ... then ooooh thats it  ;D you get the drift ::)
As for the water see above ::)

Swamper: Thank you for even more info  I've been trying something ( little experiment) will show results later ;)

Not sure how to proceed with castle grounds at the mo. The PW doesn't seem right here.

Hello Derry,

I like Cowley - good place to relax for me. I'm sure there are some mysteries and strange events here  ::)

The general view is great. My favourites: castle and fields covering small, soft hills. Also the modern farming installations are fantastic.

About castle: hmm... You are right about ploppable water. How to build something here? It would be great to make a central hill (not very steep), a castle on the top of it, a borough on  slopes under the castle and long walls with some gates and forts - on surrounding hills. But it needs a large space and you haven't it. My suggestion: flatten some more terrain inside walls, if you will not do it, it will be extremely difficult to build something here. But you can leave a deppression around the water tower - it will look interesting. You can make in this place a small artificial lake using one of canal sets (or SG irrigation canals). It would be very good for the castle owner (bad English, I know) to have his own spring and fresh water all the time in the case of siege.
And you don't need a moat, especially inside the walls  ;D

I must say I feel myself a bit ashamed - I'm a member of SC4D fro April and still don't have my own MD - still preparing plugins, making experiments etc. And you had such troubles and in short time created this charming place - great work!
It seems to me you don't need Fukitol - your organism produces it by itself. But it is very nice you made this farm for your visitors  :D

Got your cuppa? Sitting comfortably? just a quickie  :D

patfirefghtr: "Sweeeet niblets" now thats an expression not normally used but it fits here, very well indeed :D :D :D Thanks for the suggestion I'll it a whirl and see  In the meantime how about this - still not sure tho' $%Grinno$%

dedgren: Thank you very much indeed. Hope to see you hear more often :D I'll put kettle
on if that will entice you  ;)

Ennedi: Thank you for your comments and excellent suggestions. I shall try each out and see.  I was thinking of parks and gardens only as they would conform to the terrain. The castle owner having forced all businesses outside once peace had come around. Thats one of the main reasons why the castle was built there, the water tower and small power supply can be relocated but no the spring $%Grinno$%

How about this for the castle grounds if not please say so. this area is very important to get right and I need all your help and advice ;)

Cheers people

Welcome once again. Thank you all for your replies.

Snaper: Thank you my friend. Its is always great to see you here

Ok As you know I wasnt happy with using PW in the castle grounds and somehow the canals didn't seem right either. Listening o your advice and spending an hour consulting with the landscapers this was enough to appease the mayor for something a bit more decorative than what was there before.

So castle grounds version 3

Aptly named Pub ::)

Now this looks a lot better than what we had before ;D

What do you think?

Hello Derry,

I have a lot of work now and my activity here will be limited next few days - sorry. But now I have a while to see at your update.

Three elements are very good: lake, BSC parks (alleys texture choosen very well - fits to this place), and Japanese walls. Great work  . But there is still some work to do around the castle, if I will have any useful idea, I will inform you.

Cheers

Welcome once again. Thank you all for your replies.

Not a massive update but i thought you might like a mosaic of another new town. You may have already seen one of its crazier residents. The security camera in tesco's first noticed him and I'm sure he'll be newsworthy for a few days

Not a lot of pics but a nice mosaic of Douglas a little thru' town to the east of Cowley

Not my best one to be sure but I'm hope you'll forgive me if I make you a nice cuppa ;)

Some replies :)

Sebes: Thank you. The mayor is pleased also by the favourable comments he has heard so far ;)

Thundercrack83: Thank you. its always a pleasure to see you here. Stay tuned for more developments

Patfirefghter: Always good to keep you on your toes. The changes were definitely worth it even for a fan of PW like me :D

Snaper: Thank you for your comments. they always spur me on

Ennedi: Adam- Hope RL doesn't overwhelm you. Thank you for your comments. I agree a lot of work still to do. Any suggestion will always be listened to . the kettle will be boiling when you next come back my friend  ;)

The next update wont be far away. I learned how to use some new stuff recently so lets see how that affects this MD. May the powers that be run away now in fear ()what()

Very nice, the castle looks beautiful and I especially love the mosaic. I'm going to have to get a little braver before I try one of those. I look forward to seeing more.

MY 1000th post.   &bis& :D  :D :D

Why is it you always find something wrong with what you do?

I was looking back at my update and thought the farms could be a bit better and so had to do something there and then. Only problem was I had to edit a lot and then I made something to fit. Wahey my first proper use of the lot editor.

Lets see how sharp eyed you lot are?
