citynut have you tried using CAL's remastered model or do you not have 3dsmax...

This is just props of SG straight canal pieces - and no I dont have 3dsmax - I am one of the weird ones I did try it but dont like it - sorry I will stick with the freebe GMAX. beside I am really used to doing things in it. I know that by the time this project is finished the re-worked canals will be on the LEX by then and we will probable use them on the lot

Citynut:  could you try darkening your roof textures?  The way they are now, they won't flow well with jestarr's models.  (And the contrast between the roof and walls is a bit jarring.)

Just a suggestion.

Ok After Jestarr gave a footprint or (Massing Model) of the building he is working on I found that all of my pipes on the steam vent prop was all wrong - so I had to rebuild all of the pipes from scratch  &mmm :(. But I was able to line up all of the pipes where they will go on Jestarr's building  ;D. Below is a progress pic still have some smaller one left to make.

Looks super Citynut!  I'm really liking it.  In other news, something I sort of expected to happen, did.  I tried to render the model so I could look at it in-game, but the render failed on three, progressively, more powerful machines. &mmm  The model's just too large and the LODs too complicated for the BAT to handle.  However, not to worry.  I've started taking the model apart to render it in pieces (at least 4), then reassemble it in LE.  This isn't necessarily a problem, it's just more work. :D  Here's some pic of my first in-game test of section #4.  I still have a few pieces to merge with the model and do the night lights, etc.  Cheers!

Andreas

Maybe you could model the pieces in a way that they could be used individually - the section from your latest picture could be easily a massive power plant building on its own. That said, I'm really looking forward to the outcome of this project, great work so far!

like w2w's they are meant to be adjacent but have walls their anyway just in case....
NAM + CAM + RAM + SAM, that's how I roll....

This bat will rock.... I'm definitly looking forward to downloading this.

That is massive! I'm really, really, REALLY impressed by the work you and Citynut have done.

I can't wait for the release!

OK, I've finished two of the five pieces for the main building.  Three will be stand-alone props (usable for other lots) and two will be connector pieces (maybe/maybe not usable for other lots). :P  Below is a pic of my latest in-game test with Citynut's props included.  It seems to be coming together fairly well (at least everything seems to fit where it's supposed to). :D   Cheers!

Air6

I'm a big fan of the industrial buildings and I have all your industries in my plugins folder. So, I can't wait for the release.

Incredible work. Bravo

jestarr

@Air6:  Glad you like them. ;D

I've been working on section #2 a little.  There'll also be two buildings connected to this one at the rear.  A shortish narrow one and a tall wide one.  The wide one will be to the left.  Here's a test render pic of it's current state.

Jestarr this is looking reall reall goooooooood every time i see you update and citynut as well  &apls

Thanks, glad you like it. ;D  So, I've gotten a little more done.  The long piece is the second connector piece.  This will connect the main building (power plant) to the factory portion, which will be two buildings.  This test lot is currently 16x18 without any of the smaller auxiliary buildings or miscellaneous props added. :D  Cheers!

I guess by the time you've finished we should just reserve a full small city tile ....

Looking at what you've got so far, there definitely seems to be scope for splitting bits of the complex off to give us a new power station and various growable industrials on a more normal game scale.

Wow nice progress. I love the brick textures you've added on the factory.
but, are you still working with gmax? that must be long render times...
:)
