A newly developed city - Alpes Midi situated at A2. The mayors of St Louis and Port St Louis were besides themselves with worry as they were rapidly running out of space as you can see from the satellite view. They petitioned the mayor of Alpes Midi and also Vallee Cachee for space to expand. The mayor of Vallee Cachee was reluctant but the mayor of Alpes Midi agreed instantly. The city was zoned for maximum growth as soon as the mayor could do so. He was enticed by the big money offered by the developers.

Here is an up to date overview of the region. As you can there is little room to grow in the valley that leads to the sea.



An interesting experiment was the use of underground living instead of high rise but it failed as the structure damaged the mid rise buildings around it.



Along the edge of the industrial zone rowhouses shielded the upper class homes from the industry.



Later demand rose and the rowhouses were demolished to make room for some tower blocks.



The developers were keen to establish their own styles and as they fought over the land the area showed a very eclectic mix.



The commercial district grew enormously and as there was no room to spread out they built up and up and up...



But it looks very attractive by night.



The businesses demanded an airport but the amount of space available was not suitable for a standard one. SG built his heliport here so the customers could be ferried in and out to a main airport.

Second episode before I forget which pictures I have shown.

The education hub is set around the Kapodistrian University built by swi21.



This is just above the old city centre with its beautiful old buildings.



Also it is close to the Chateau de Sceaux and the Villa Bellrive, also built by swi21.



There were many objections to the continued heavy zoning and when D66 built her Dude Ranch it was well received by the rich guys who wanted to play at being cowboys. Luxury accommodation and easy rides for the pampered rich.



This end of the valley is dominated by tourist spots and accommodation.







Stables for proper horsemen and women have been built.



And Jacky has built a branch of her Kabin franchise.



But what is so interesting in the garden of Scottie's Kabin?

The pic in the first post with the SG Prentiss Buildings looks pretty cool 3 of them in an almost square there.  Just needed the 4th corner with one and it would have looked like a "huge" Prentiss Complex building.

great new update and that region is scary, oh just one little thing, why is the SG heliport so notorious?

Well rumour has that when it was built the contractor discovered ancient bones as they dug foundations ... then instead of reporting it ... the nightshift encased it in the shutering of one of the foundation piles.

Now every year on the 30th day of the Second month a strange and eerie sound whales through the city ... shortly after that then the Sims stop using the facility for one year ...

Great update Barby. There is lot of variety in your cities. I like the area around the lake with Mike's Place. I bet you also have a great waterfall hidden for us there

This is a great update. I love the *****huge***** variety of bats on display here; amazing stuff.

I especially like the last pics with all of the tourist attractions, it's a lovely contrast to the bustle of the city

Colyn, are you implying that the regional pop play a role in LAG ? I always thought it was only the city population played that influence the LAG
