It's been a long time since I've touched the BAT, but I figured I'd give it a shot. I'm formerly sc4jeeks of SimTropolis, mostly known for my parking lot pack. I like to make small stores, and things you'd see around town. I mostly like to make commercial and civic buildings.

Anyway, here's my current WIP:

It's not based on any real-life building or store brand. I like the freedom of making everything from scratch. I'm certainly open to C&C.

I'm not sure if I'll make this a growable or plop yet. I've never made growable lots, or even lots with jobs, so I've got some research to do.

Anyway, I'll post future works in this thread. Comments & criticism are welcome, I really appreciate them...

Thanks, jeronij. The lighting was tough to get the hang of.

While that was rendering, I started work on this, another commercial:

Nothing elaborate, just made to fit in a small, urban environment.

does that say lamestop? haha. nice work, good lights. interested to see where this goes.

WalkingSnake

It actually says "LameShop"  I generally keep real brand names out of my buildings, but I couldn't resist here. :P

Being compared to SimGoober is a big compliment for me, so thanks. :)

Now I'm having some problems with exporting.

BigSlark

Your work is looking good, WalkingSnake.

Why the name "Slark," by the way? You wouldn't happen to be one of my relatives, would you?

Cheers,
Kevin

EDIT: 400 posts! I have been here for that long???

Pat

WoW very good work and i do like Slark, it has a look of a old fire house

Just a random name, just like "Ringleschot." I like making up my own names, because they have no language barrior and I have more freedom of what I can do.  ;)

I'm really stuck on the Ringleschot exporting problem. The preview looks nothing like the final result. It may be on hold for a little while.

WalkingSnake

I got the Ringleschot Strip finished, working, and uploaded to the STEX.

I'll work on getting it to the LEX tomorrow. I don't quite understand the submission process yet...

WOW, this is the nicest W2W in an American Style I've seen, can we expect more like this from you? - I sure hope so :)

Ah, that's actually my mistake. I meant to save it as a zip. I'll get on fixing that. :)

At some point I'll work on custom installers.

I've reworked Slark's size and style more. I made the word "Slark" a lot less noticeable. I'd rather this building blend in than stick out. I've also majorly adjusted the scale and some textures.

Here's something else I've been working on a bit:

A new children's museum. It's made to fit the same style I use on my previous buildings.

Heblem

wow excellent work  i like the last building

Chrisadams3997

I really like it(both buildings,) the only thing I can say, and this is nitpicking a little, is I don't particularly like the round 'smudge' on the roof of Slark's, looks too much like a single paint stroke in photoshop.  Other than that, great job.

Pat

Ws Slark's rework looks great and also for the new bat as well...
