... My comments are the spice of this indian food (joke, Qaddro is located in Indian penisula / continent / landmass. Place where Mumbai is in our universe).

So, what happened to the telemarketers?

Looks good, but the only thing that I can see wrong is the jaggies that result from mixing two or three sidewalk mods together (default: GLR, jeronij's: road, SMP's sandstone one: plazas), and well, it just looks a little weird as a result. Also, you might have to drop the height of that smaller suspension bridge there in the overview a little. (if you haven't done so already, get the Bridge Height Mod from ST's mods section)

But diagonal fun! I like it, despite those little issues.

Arriving to Ullanlinna

Nice that people are still interested about Qaddro. I have always wondered, why people sign their CJs/MDs like SimCity, a CJ by Mayor? Well, because mine is better and I'm better, Qaddro will be known as Qaddro, the MD by Krio. Not a MD, this THE MD. THE MD.

But let us return to business. I've been building Qaddro, but now I shall continue showing older, disappaeread pics from Qaddro. Today we go to Ullanlinna (Ulla's Castle, castle of Ulla), city which was founded soon after Ronja by Finnish immigrants. After Qaddro became independent, immigration to young country was organized so that people would land to Ullanlinna instead of young capital Ronja to prevent riots and other criminal activities in the city. They say, that Ullanlinna is most Scandinavian city outside Scandinavia because of the architechture.

City has many well known landmarks, including Nikolainkirkko // st. Nicholas Cathderal - a lutheran cathedral which was designed by German architecht.  Nikolainkirkko is most important church in the Indian penisula, though it aren't the seat of Archishop of Qaddro. Lutheran religion first came to Ullanlinna and then speard to other parts of Qaddro.
Maybe the best known landmark is gate of Liberty or Vapaudenportti which is the center piece of today's update, but first replies:

Shadow Assasin: Telemarketers are now in Kolkata! But thank you for comment and critic, which I shall reply. I would like to delete Jeronij's sidewalk mod (no offense J.), but Dat Packer has merged it to BSC stuff, so it's quite impossible. I have the bridge height mod for the bridges, hah hah. I also dislike the height, but gives some character.

Vapaudenportti // Gate of Liberty guards the harbour of Ullanlinna. It was gift from American goverment at 1810 for young republic which was squared by British and Americans wanted to show that they support freedom of Qaddro. Vapaudenportti was placed to Heinäsaari // Hey Island, which held the old immigration office. Today Vapaudenportti is one of "wonders of the world" and symbol to freedom like Statue of Liberty of New York City.

Old customs office and prison for "difficult" immigrants. Today it is a souvenier shop, but holds some postal service for tourist use. Handcuffs only 5 taffs, if you send 2 postcards.

I like this island, reminds me of a certain few islands around the world. In fact, I can name one: Garden Island, Sydney: formerly a fort (well it wasn't a prison, seeing as Australia WAS one big prison, after all), now a rapidly-sinking-into-the-sea tourist attraction.

I see jaggies that could easily be fixed by using Marrast's diagonal filler tile that came with the seawall kit. (picture 2... you don't have to fix it, though, it's not too bad looking)

It must be one of those days, though, where no-one's bothering to visit their local tourist attraction...

Ullanlinna

Good people of Devotion! As you can see, I'm "back in Krio" again and many, MANY thanks to jeronij for it! Anyways, back to the updating Qaddro. This update is "old" again, but pics are gone so re-post it here. Now we explore city center of Ullanlinna. As I mentioned previously, it's most Scandinavian city outside of Scandinavia. There are no cars, because at the moment when picture was taken there was only 2 000 residents. So mostly plopped and I'm sorry. But plopping is the trend in MDs.

Thanks that you like the update and the island, IMO it's quite plain  and I'm going to "upgrade" it to have more old facilities which were used when it was first stop for immigrants. And there is no people, because I don't make lots where is people. Heh.

Some ghetto, some harbours, some goverment

While making school project after work my brains burnt out and I needed to something else. Options were: walk to the gym for 1,5 hours in heavy rain or SimCity 4. SC4 it was and I continued Qaddro's capital Ronja. I built some residental areas, tram lines and govermental buildings. I also built "old harbour" which is used by leisure activities nowdays. Because my brains are burnt, lets go for replies and then to the pics.

Pääesikunta's yard. Yes, the yard. Office of Chief of Military. Current CoM is Major General Mjour Pyrrö. Pyrrö was appointed in 2001 and before coming to Chief of Military he was Chief of the Air Force.


Back yard of Pääesikunta. Buildings in the left are building of Social and healthcare ministery and Poptaiteen Museo // Museum of Popart. The MOPA is round shaped building.


Unready area! Oravatorni // Squirrel Tower is highest radio / TV-mast in Ronja if we do not count the skyscrapers. This unready area is called as Raastin // Grater, because it's located in old manufacturing area. Some of the factories are still working, but most of them are converted to other usage as residental flats, museums and even nightclubs. Raastin was also former 'red light district' but when industries were shut down, the prostitues disappeared.


Elevated tramline going through Etelä-Raastin // Southern Grater. As you can see, buildings aren't in very good shape and poor people and students live in these cheap flats.


Quite quiet in Raastin. Tower blocks were built in the 1930's for apartments for factory workers, but today they are in "cult position" and different kind of people live there. Flats are cheap so again students live here because of views and nightclubs.


Close-up! This fuel station became legendary in 1987 when Irish band filmed their music video on it's roof and streets were quickly filled with fans and police had to stop filming.


Overview. You can see Vanha Satama // Old Harbour. Harbour was once busy, but now there are only few fishermen and buildings are used for restaurants and such humbug.


Night shot. MOFO nightclub is most popular rock and technorock club in whole Indian penisula. But when people dress up as inmates, cowboys and wear bubble suits, everyone can ask what happened to mothersuckin' rock and roll?

Qaddro's second finest department store - Stickmann was founded by German trader in 1892. Stickmann has several other department stores in other cities, usually in malls, but this is their flagship shop - the crown jewel of whole Stickmann chain.
