How are you able to ensure the right house grows in the right spot if the game only recognizes corner and straight lots? Or is the plan to just bulldoze until the right one grows? Buildingplop works fine for me as it doesn't take up menu space and will have residents (albeit not commuting ones) but I can't speak for others.

You may be interested to check out Gobias' work. Not long before he last disappeared he was doing a bunch of exciting stuff regarding HD base-texture replacement that might relate to the look you're trying to get with these houses and driveways. He also made some great HD sidewalk mods if you're not already familiar with them.

Keep up the great work  &apls

Bipin

Unfortunately you will have to bulldoze and regrow to achieve the correct orientation. Regarding Gobias' work, the sidewalks seen in all my pictures are his, as are any base textures, for I do use his base texture mod as well. Thanks for the kind words Noahclem!

Bipin

Sorry for the double post, but for a brief little while today I was bored with houses, so I did something completely different...

...very different.

I find that, while many dilapidated BATs exhibit the correct texturing, I feel few have the correct modelling in terms of deteriorating, warped, and askew physical structures.

I wanted to solve this in my own way. The above is an old police precinct slightly underfunded. Akin to what you may see in Detroit or Gary. Keep in mind that this is my first commercial structure besides the Camberton. Aside from that, I only do a few houses and mostly transit-related items or futuristic sculptures. Also be aware that the texturing, especially on the facade, is incomplete. Nonetheless, I hope you enjoy this little surprise! :)

Swordmaster

Looks quite cool actually. Love it.

I couldn't go to sleep tonight without sharing this:

Enjoy!

I am just lost for words! Those are great Bipin! :D

They remind me of some highway walls recently erected in my city.

rooker1

Those are amazing!! :o
I can see these walls in NORO for sure. Thank you sharing this before bed.
You are really making great use of this month in OSITM!

Robin
Call me Robin, please.

Great pic! &apls

Thank you very much everyone for your very kind words abou the MSE/sunken walls, those responses are what give me the stamina to BAT for all these hours, day in and day out.  :D That being said, I'd also like to give a big thanks to Noahclem for the karma point!

As a thanks for your awesome responses I'd like to present the current, beta version of the aforementioned concrete walls. I'd like to limit the number of downloads for this test, so I'm releasing them to the more hardcore players over here at SC4D and SimPEG:

(Paeng's grunge filler lots and the grungge/diagonal extender pieces for industrial areas are required).

Enjoy!

Amazing walls &apls

Great idea with the stairs and shops "within" the wall. It make me think about the possibility to make caves....

Awesome! I can't really tell if they're L1 or L2.

In the pictures shown, these walls lie at 10 meters, in order for GTK's Tram-in Avenue FLUPS to be used.  However, they do extend to 15m for L2 if you wish to use them that way.

FrankU

Please let me add my admiration to the sound of the crowd! Great idea, these walls and entrances. You could hide parking garages there, subway stations, and more.

Bipin

Thanks FrankU, I plan on adding those types of items. ;-)

Bipin

Just a heads up everyone, you can download a patched version of the "Circuit Relay Tower" on the STEX in a few moments. If you haven't been on the STEX lately, this is what you missed:

On that note, since you're here, take a look at what's coming up next in terms of futuristic buildings. This will follow an aesthetic parallel to that of the aforementioned release:

This structure will become a basic housing unit, with the inflatable glass/plastic bubble enveloping the living space. The  two thick, metal support walls on either side of the bubble will encase life support/mechanical systems. Hope you enjoy the progress!

Interesting concept and I'll be watching closely for your next releases (on a side note, would just like to know about the status of the BATs? ;) if you can thanks )

And I really appreciate your circuit relay tower BAT, seems ideally suited to what I'm doing which is great :D

I won't be able to work on those items for five days until I get back to my normal computer. Right now I am using a laptop which is not powerful enough to use 3dsMax; it can hardly run Sketchup, hence a simple, untextured picture of my latest BAT from that program. Thanks for your kind words!

Great work on these fascinating futuristic buildings  &apls  Is there anything you don't bat?  ;D
