The work in here is EPIC!

Wow, wide curves for walls.  ;D  I like the underground BATs because they add a new layer of life to the game.  The lower decks of real cities aren't always limited to subways; some larger cities have shops and offices underground, away from the heat or cold.

I admit that I had never really thought about nightlighting on construction equipment before, but what I've seen here makes me wonder how we've gotten along without it for so long.

Good work, Bipin!

Those walls look amazing!!

I'd love to have those work vehicles, as there aren't many small ones out there.

(btw, are you planning to make them MMPs? $%Grinno$% )

Amazing work Bipin! &apls
Provo, a city apart Updated July 4.

Bipin

Unfortunately, MMPs will not work as primarily intended, for the night lighting will not show. However, if anyone is willing to make the props into a MMP by all means feel free to! For the time being, these will be released as props and lots.

Bipin

Regarding those dilapidated roads you all seem to enjoy so much, here's more along that vein:

Personally though, I prefer the second one:

These are intended to match with Paeng's grunge textures. Enjoy!

Bipin, is it possible for me to download some of your beautiful stuff? I couldn`t find anything on LEX on your name. Maybe i searched wrong?

I really love that park you got there  ;D

Bipin

There will be some more stuff uploaded very soon, so don't worry. In the meantime, you can download all my released creations here:

http://community.simtropolis.com/index.php?app=core&module=search&do=user_activity&search_app=downloads&mid=406379

Since you're a valued customer so nice though, we will give you an additional, separate and previously unreleased prop pack for the price of only those other downloads, for FREE! Call now for this exclusive offer. Actually, everything is free, but it just sounds more exciting this way!   :D  :P

Hope you enjoy these additional guardrail and highway props! They will not be found on lots in the download. However, lotting them yourself is quite straightforward.

zwitser

Well thank you very much sir! (smiley taking off its hat)

I will download the file and try it out  :)

The secrecy of not sharing all of your work is making it more interesting  :P I saw some tutorials of creating my own lots and other stuff. I`ll try it out sometime

Bipin

You've opened a can of worms Zwister by asking for those props to be released, now I have to work on my more contemporary transit BATs! :P For those of you who were wondering the same thing, wonder no more, for they can be downloaded right now, right here:

http://rapidshare.com/files/704040020/bipinprops_HWY_OddsAndEnds.zip

While the download only includes props such as guardrails and overpasses, and not their respective lots, the job shouldn't be too bad when designing your own lots with them. The props are quite versatile and may be utilized in their initially intended way, such as here...

...or placed on your own accord, as they can be used in a variety of situations I have not yet realized. Be creative! Also, be sure to expect more along these lines:

Enjoy! :D

whatevermind

OMG that bridge! That is a beautiful bridge, or half of one anyway.   ;D

Those guardrails are pretty awesome too. Going back to that busted up street texture, I agree the second one seems more realistic. I think it could use more potholes, possibly down to the gravel/dirt below, if it would be possible without being too repetitive. Maybe some ruts too. I think it overall works pretty well though!

metarvo

Nice work, Bipin.   The guardrails look so real, and they're diagonal and even curved, which is a plus.

Those walls are fantastic, please please please release these when you can as they by far and away many times better than all the other walls out there currently.

Wow. Nice Job Binpin! There is some cool stuff on this forum. Keep Up the cool work. Can't wait to see more of it.

Not sure if this an appropriate place to ask, but would it be possible to T21 these props onto the puzzle pieces like the smooth curves, or would a transparent lot be the only feasible option?
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

A transparent lot would be by far the most feasible option. I'll probably go that route. Thanks for all the comments everyone, I appreciate your kind words!  ;D

Time to revisit those roads! The last texture had half of the community wish for more cracks/bumpy concrete, whilst the other half wished for less. The more I pleased one party, the more I upset the other. For a week or so I searched fora  better texture, but to no avail. By accident today, I came across this texture and pulled it from an image. Now the hardest part, HD or SD? Let me know what setup you prefer:

The above is HD at zoom levels five and six, whilst the following images are SD at zoom five:

Frankly, I believe you just don't see anything in SD that warrants the amount of detail in the road surface. I feel as though by going SD, much of this work is in vain. However, it's clear that in HD, the texture appears a bit noisy in some views, which isn't perfect either. What are your suggestions as to where I should go from here?

APSMS

There is the bit that you might want to remember, namely that all of the NAM transit textures are in SD for space reason (primarily), since little was gained by HD textures. That being said, these have substantially more detail than the asphalt roads Textures that we normally see.

However, while I don't mind my buildings being slightly noisy at lower zoom levels, I would prefer it if my roads looked good all the time, because I use them so much, so in this case I'll have to defer to the SD textures.

P.S. I am trying to work on a concrete RHW texture mod; could I PM you about sending me some of the textures you're using. I'm sort of new to this and trying to manufacture my own is proving difficult (at best).
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

Bipin

Thanks for the kind words APSMS, I've taken much of what you said into consideration. I think I'll stick with HD< but lower the noise so the SD view is not as wild in that respect.

I've always been frustrated by the lack of photorealism in SC4 road textures, so I hope to fill that void. If you wish to help out, let me know! A few other members have come formward in saying they'd be happy to jump aboard a retexture mod. Seeing as this road deck is merely a texture projected onto a flat surface, it shouldn't be hard to use on other items with some good UVW wrapping. The other option is to simply do a high resolution, top-down render of the model and extract the road surface image therein as something to use for a texture mod.

Enjoy! :)

It's been a while since I had posted something here; far too long! Here's an update regarding a smaller futuristic dwelling:

This is a two-storey housing complex comprising of two subunits; a lower and upper level. The second floor must still be BATed.

The open spot seen to the right of the latter picture will include a, entrance way, common area and possibly driveways/underground access. Enjoy!
