Made In China: Olympic Subcontracting




Because of industrial restrictions in China to clear the air for the Beijing Olympics, the Chinese government contracted out with Golden Banana Industries of Monkey Island to keep the world's supply of goods flowing. So, when you are shopping this month, remember that it may say "Made in China" but it was really made right here in Monkey Island!

Looking real sweet for being made in china here lol and I also just so you know I havent forgotten about your request Ive ran into a road block in getting it to look good with straight paths minus the curvy look...  Im placing a call out to texture makers to help in that department....

Schul, you are one of very few players who can make an industrial area look good. Surely the best little monkey brains on the island have been hard at work on this one!

I've not seen those brownish-red roofed buildings in an industrial area before. For reference, there's one in the lower left corner and another in the upper right corner  of the third photo. Just wondering what they are.

Another good update - lots of little details to enjoy looking at!

paroch   Thanks! I am glad you have enjoyed the variety in the last few updates. I like to do sort of random stuff in Monkey Island. In Schulmania, I use pretty much only one way of playing. Here is where I come to experiment and just play around. And I am glad you liked the results.

Joan! Thanks for coming by. Always a pleasure to have you here in Monkey Island. LOL, a room full of chimps joined forces to design this area. The buildings you refer to are from Mickebear's Mediterranean set of industrials. They are on the LEX. I use them for industrial buildings almost exclusively in Schulmania because the rest of the industrial buildings are too modern looking. These MBEAR lots are very attractive and make a great addition anywhere. He is one of my favorite BATters.

A Monkey Island Tribute to The Tea Cat

Derry has been a kind, supportive member of the SC4D community for a long time, and has been a long time supporter of Monkey Island. With news of his MD closure and having real life to contend with, I wanted to post a little something to honor his contributions, in his own MD, mine, and countless others. His quick, charming wit will be missed. And, hopefully, he will be back soon. Until then, I'm keeping a kettle at the ready.

Welcome to One Tea Hill

Atop Tea Hill, the entrepreneurs behind Monkey Picked Tea tend their tea bushes. The small village produces all of Monkey Island's tea.







For those who want some milk in their tea, the monkeys provide it.



The monkeys live in quaint old houses along cobblestone streets.





Monkeys leaving church this morning heard the news that Derry was closing his MD. They went across the street to the tea shop to have a cuppa in his honor.



He's a great guy and they wish him all the best. They hope he'll be able to come back soon. In the mean time, a kettle of monkey picked tea will be kept ready.
