That school building is something else, great work.  I am looking at the scale of the tennis courts somehow they seem a little large in comparison to the building.  Also without fences around the courts the school administrator's are going to have a fit having all the tennis balls hitting the side of their beautiful building.  The players however will get plenty of exercise chasing their missed shots all over campus.

If you are interested in finding pictures of this building... my school has a rather unique feature. In our library's special collections area is a postcard collection of somewhere around 1,000,000+ postcards (I kid you not) from around the world, many of which have not yet been organized. If you are interested, just tell me the name of your hometown and I can poke around the ones they have organized (they have some pretty random ones around there) to see if I can find one to give you some additional perspectives (although I like how the building looks now).

Nice work on the boarding school (acadamy?.. w/e its called now, sorry i'm too lazy to scroll through the first pages and find out). it's just stunning. the new building looks awesome. your smalltown and shurr buildings have really allowed for wonderfully dense downtowns and cities. especially combined with the works of Ill Tonkso, JasonCW, and Nofunk among others. really changing the game in a positive manor. thanks.

Buckbeach:  Thank-you!  Ah... scale... the bane of any BATter's existence!  The problem is that Maxis had no consistency whatsoever in their scaling.  This becomes very noticable when it comes to larger objects.  The stadiums and universtiy are ridiculously small in comparison to a lot of things.  While smaller things (like tennis courts) are really quite large.  (Consider that a tennis court fits on a 2x1 lot... making it twice as large as half the single family homes that came with the game.  Of course that leads to the debate where someone points out that the tennis court is the right size and most of the houses are too small.  And so the circle continues to go around...)  If anything... I'm concerned that the whole campus is going to look oversized when compared with the university.  This may all be irrelevant, since the tennis courts (and almost every other prop) are only on the lot for the sake of "let's see how this looks."  If they stay, I will certainly finish them off with fencing end such... but I don't know if they'll stay yet.

Threestooges:  That sounds like a very cool feature.  I might have to come find your school next month when I come to LA!  To be honest, I don't really want to match up to the real thing anyway.  Closer study of the picture actually reminded me that the tower was a separate structure built around the shorter corner building.  The shorter building actually used to have a clock tower on it... and a bit of French influence.  As a matter of fact... if you pull up on of my SHUR commercial buildings... the photo in the commercial query is actually of the short part!  (I had known it was the same corner, but thought the short building was destroyed before the Fiege building was built... apparently I was wrong)

Sim Shady:  Sorry, buddy!  I'm sure it wasn't my high school, if it makes you feel any better!

Irfox:  Thanks!  I still call it Westlake Academy... but a lot of people seem to have different names/ideas... so call it whatever you like, I guess!  ;)  I'm glad the SHUR project continues to come in handy.  We Michigan people seem to have something going for us anyway!

Still cold up here.  I've finally had a chance to browse some of the MD's and "Show us your..." threads and must warn you that I now have more ideas.  I also downloaded a bunch of new toys too... so it's hard to say which building spree I'll go on first.  Either a BAT building spree or a game building spree...  I guess we'll find out when I get home!

Well, if you do end up coming, special collections is on the bottom floor (and you may need an appointment). It may be a bit quiet though (the school of course, the library is natually quiet) as the end of the school year is May 5.

They are here!!!

Ladies and gentlemen... Monkey Around Productions, a division of JBSimio Incorporated, is proud to announce the arrival of the following new attractions which can be found only at your neighborhood LEX.

School Pack - Volume One contains four elementary schools.  This version has been updated from what was previously released over at ST.  Upgrades include better menu descriptions and more accurate staffing levels.  It is also the first (I believe) fully multilingual release.  The schools themselves have not changed.  You should delete any old versions from your plugin folders before installing this one.

School Pack - Volume Two contains three high schools.  This version has also been updated from what was previously released at ST.  The upgrades are the same as Volume One, and the schools themselves again remain the same.  You should delete any old versions from your plugin folders before installing this one.

School Pack - Volume Three contains three specialty private schools.  Holy Cross is a small combination church and elementary school, most suitable for suburban areas.  It is a fully functional elementary school that also provides all the benefits that an ingame house of worship gives to your city.  Peace Church and Shool is a larger, more historic church and elementary school.  It functions much like Holy Cross, except with larger capacities.  Manthey Correctional School is a combination school and jail.  It is a fully functional high school, which also houses inmates with the hope of rehabiliting them.  All three are rewards and each have their own conditions that must be met.  More details on these requirements and also the school's information can be found in the readmes.

These upgrades came as the result of a lot, and by that I mean a lot, of help from other BSC members.  Andreas Roth provided the menu upgrades.  He actually did this without any requests from me... he just thought it seemed like a good idea, I guess.  The various translations were another idea that I can't really take much credit for.  Ripplejet brought it up, Andreas Roth ran with it, and in all honesty, I did little more than look on with awe and gratitude.  The following people provided translations:  Andreas Roth (German), jeronij (Spanish), Kwakelaar (Norwegian), Marco Berzacola (Italian), Rayden (Portuguese), RippleJet (Finnish, Swedish), Serkanner (Dutch), vester_DK (Danish), wouanagaine (French).  A huge thank-you goes to all of them.  Kboomsw did all the Macintosh testing, which didn't go nearly as well as either of us had hoped for quite some time.  Finally, while I may be a bit of a perfectionist, it is not always easy to find the desire or motivation needed to spend more time on "finished" business.  However, the spirit of this community and the endless support I recieve from members here turn that aforementioned chore into something that I am happy and honored to do.  With that in mind, the final thanks is to everyone that follows along and enjoys what I have to offer.

Now... "Go teach your sims something!" because "The power of learning compels you."

Thank you so much for the school packs....all the hard work and love you and the BSC team put in is so very much appreciated.....
Sometimes I go into my own little world....but it's ok, they know me there.

JBSimio

Thank you all very much!  It's nice to have them so well recieved.  The really nice thing (at least in my mind) is that these were the last of the "redo" projects I had.  Everything else from here on out will be new stuff.  The Taft Building doesn't seem to be having any problems so far... so that should be next and hopefully in the near future.

I found a book at my parent's house with a bunch of old pictures of the city.  This of course gave me more ideas (which I probably didn't need) so there could be a flurry of new stuff coming along.  I also spent some time browsing the "Show us your..." threads, which gave me a couple more ideas.  So who knows what might be next!

Nothing to show right now.  I got back in town yesterday afternoon and then had to spend the next three or four hours catching up on all the work stuff I missed by daring to take the holiday weekend off.  I'm sure I'll get something done tonight... but I don't know yet what it will be!  Thanks again...

JBSimio, these are great school packs! They're perfect for suburban areas, because the in-game high schools don't really look like they fit in the suburbs, and the same can be said for the elementary schools.

I especially like the red schoolhouse, it's perfect for small farming communities.
After a long absence, I'm back! And I will be starting a new MD soon.
