Great work, Maarten!
I agree that the cities are greener than Imaginia, especially the industrial areas looks more realistic!
Great work on the underpasses &apls

-Matthijs
That's also my opinion. Thank you for your comment.

Suprising how you can make a ugly and dirty area look so beautiful, isn't it?

Yeah, I haven't mastered reducing repitition yet &mmm

First I would like to announce some bad news: two cities of mine, Schellingen-Mitte and Rothfurt, are suffering from the Prop Pox (random blocks of permanently disappeared props). Although I found a method to reduce and mask the effect, you may still see some Poxed city blocks. I tried my best to hide the Prop Pox in this update, so if you seeing disappeared props, please don't blame me for that.

Welcome to the final part of our tour through Schellingen-Mitte. We'll start near the Central Railway Station, just were we left at the previous update. We go to the Bahnhofquartier (Station Quarters), a high-rise ressidential city district inbetween the central railway and the freeway A7:

(sorry for the abandoned buildings, they are quite ruining the scene)  ()sad()

Now we going to the other side of the freeway A7 and we're taking another look at Weichen:

Quite near Weichen we've an industrial area: Bewerbegebiet Allemand:

Now we go down the Felixrüherallee (B14) to the east of the city, the city quarter of Nord-Dubber, but first we pass this freeway interchange:

Here we arrive at Nord-Dubber:

On the other side of the river we've the city district of Süd-Dubber, but you see that this district can use some gentrification...

South of Süd-Dubber we have the freeway A112, which is a small stretch of freeway of the B12. South of this freeway the area is still under development:

A little bonus picture: this is a close-up from the statues in the Friedenpark near the Bundesquartier:

And to conclude this update, here's a teaser picture of what's coming up next update:

Best,
Maarten

The Prop Pox.  ::) If I was granted one free wish from EA, I'd ask them to fix this bug.

Great pictures nonetheless. I don't recognize the avenue bridge in 3.07. Which one is it?

This is no April Fool's joke that Maarten has made it into OSITM two times now and both times were in April.   :D
Maarten's second time in OSITM and with very good reason!!  The quality that is pumped out of this MD on a consistant basis is unbelievable.  Carefully choosen models and perfectly laid out transit system all make for very realistic city scenes!

Congrats from myself and The SC4D Staff!!! &apls
Call me Robin, please.

Congratulations on a second OSITM Maarten!

Of your recent work here I particularly like you use of USL & RHW, as well as the green spaces. Speaking of USL, thanks for your awesome work on the LRM previously!

Well, fortunately I could mask most of the problems, but you still see some parts with missing props. Anyway thanks for your reply!

The avenue bridge is the steel arch bridge from Maxis. And yes, I would also like that the Prop Pox is fixed. It's in my top 3 most annoying SimCity bugs (after CTDs and corrupt save files).

Indeed. Also my freeways look great with the USL. You really see the effects of streetlighting with the USL, and that's why I like this mod so much  :)

Adding some lighting effects, add some blur on the edges can do miracles! Thanks for your replies.

The next update will follow later this afternoon. It took longer than expected, since I rebuilded one office area with ploppalbe CO$$($)-buildings to reduce repetition. It would be unrealistic to see about a 100 instances of Monterra Travels  $%Grinno$% . The next update will contain:

  • 29 pictures!
  • More roadgeekery
  • A large airport
  • A modern W2W office district
  • Endless suburbia
  • and last but not least: Parks, lots of parks

Best,
Maarten
