Yes! Another update  ;D
Love how the story evolves, and glad to have some backgroundinfo on
the other region that plays a part in this MD.
And yet again, I love the pictures, makes me feel tiny at citybuilding  :P

Keep up the good work, Fred  &apls &apls

I know that 62 BATs for the next updates sound impossible and incredible, but they are only small props. Just to give you all an idea what some of them look like, I included a picture with some of my 62 BATs for the next 4 updates. In the first picture you can see already 8 new Nexis BATs and in the second one are 6 more, I think.
At the same time this will give you an apertizer of what's up ahead (as if you don't have enough previews already) , but it will take some time.
Have you all a nice weekend, or what's left of it.

Fred

That`s an avantage to have the skill for batting, because like your`s you can do more realistic MD. Excellent work once again.  &apls &apls &apls

Great scenes, Fred. I love the rustic areas and hope to get better at creating them myself someday. Your work is just beautiful and I admire your eye for detail.

kimcar, Yeah, it is I guess..... ;)
urban, if you want to understand what is going to happen in the story, you better start from the beginning while it is still  small and young.
Jmouse, thanks.
rdrdrdrd, yeah, I've seen and I also have downloaded some which will be seen together with my stuff, but it is limited somewhat and somehow a little out of scale and not working properly together with my terrainmods. I have made, imo, better detailed and more modern stuff for my personal use.

Thanks for dropping in folks. ;)

Fred

EDIT: Oupss, I just realized, this MD is in another category now....hmm....

Fred, if you would like to send me the models of your 64 props I will happily make them into a pack for you and also make some Mayor Mode Ploppables for you.
Inside every old person is a young person wondering what happened. TP

Fred (and Barby too) if you're interested in making that pack, I'd certainly have a use for it. As I mentioned before (and these pics just reiinforce it) you did a great job on these things.

Livin in Sim

Hi, Fred,

This is quite the rip roaring story, and I enjoy the point of view of young Charlie.  I never was able to have enough time to read the storyline of NoG, so it's nice to be here at the small and young start.  It's interesting to see your cities rising from the wilderness, and how they will grow, along with the entry into the uncharted area.  I wonder what adventures they will encounter there?  Your landscape is up to your usual caliber, especially the detailed terraforming of the river with all of its inlets and backwaters.  I do like the scale of your props.  They're nice and detailed, particularly the timber.

I'll be following this and GRVII.
Bye for now.

Livin in Sim, welcome to my CJ and glad you could make it from the beginning this time ;) and hey, thanks for those nice comments.

Wow, thanks for the offer. You can be sure that I will send several of these (the best) to you to make a Pack (or two). That would be really so cooool. Also I have problems understanding the Mayor plop thing tutorial and you came just in time. These plops I have for the Mayor mode are not yet finished in gmax, but they should be ready in a week or so.
The other plops you see on my pics are 1x1 lots with props and unvisible textures working just fine for me, so I think they're good, many are my BATs, but also some are Maxis and others (Gascooker, jestarr etc). There are some Bats that I have to modify and re-scale first, like the woodpiles for example on the picture with the foundation (on the right).

So give me a week or two and *lotsa BATs* you will receive.....lol. Thanks again.
By then I will have most of them shown in my CJ/MD also. ;)

Now don't exagerate we need you down here and not in heaven. ;)
Yes, the planes, some boats and ships (yet to come) a dozen or two of small logging and road construction props (still to see yet), a new few weekend "Villas" for the Gabber family and others (not seen yet either), other homes and many buildings that I started BATting long time ago and only now finished, some different vehicules (Jeeps and Hummers) and a lot of small things too various to mention.

My gmax got hot working hard last week..... ;) (have to change the coil and sparkplugs now)  but these are mostly small things, but somehow needed for my story, and they were fairly easy and fast to create.  There are 62 props and BATs and not 64 I must add, including some 25 to 30 Lots with already existing props from other BATters like vehicules, machinery, sims etc, well everything to recreate an excellent road construction scene. BarbyW had a wonderful idea and offered herself to make a Pack with these props, which I surely will as soon as I have worked out all the minor adjustements, mostly re-sizing and retexturing some of them.

I suppose they will end up on the LEX one day for you to help building your own road-construction scenes.

Thanks again to all for all the kind words and stay tuned, I will have the Winding River region invasion ready in a couple of days with the first road entering the wilderness.
Listen, little Charlie will have a ball fishing in all these little newly found and discovered ponds, lakes and creeks.......and maybe......just maybe.... :shocked2:

Have a nice week

Fred

FrankU, if I remember right the C stand for City, but I could be wrong..... ;)

No! Now I remember! It sprang up in my mind: the C stands for Countryside.

Again, thanks for the comments and I' m glad you like my prop/lots. More below..... ;)
Now let's continue the story of our little friend Charlie.

A few months have passed and summer is almost over. Charlie just turned 8 years old. Things in the Winding River Wilderness started to move, they were finally able to build an access road over the mountains and started logging and clearing the land for a future route throught the valley on both sides. Once the route is done, access roads towards where the highway will be will be build and then the construction of Highway 30 itself will begin.

Right now Highway 30 stops just outside of the Bluebay municipality in a little town called Sandom Center and I'm not sure if we could call it a town yet.

From here the highway was about to follow the contours of the sea, but high and loose rocky cliffs made it impossible and that was the main reason for the highway project to stop in Sandom....until the Gabbers had the idea (well, Mike that is) to detour the highway through the valley of the Winding River Wilderness. And that is where we are right now, at the beginning of it all.
The Minister of transports finally gave the green lights to manage the construction of Highway 30 to the Gabber family and some other Companies like Hemlock Road Construction. Even the rails are about to sign a deal to get their lines over the valley with a railbuilding company from the Capitol out in the west.
Economically this will be good for the regions of Bluebay, Beecherfalls, Sandom and Frampton. Too little people for the amounts of jobs available and everyone is busy building something. The Highway, roads and rails bring in a lot of people from other regions of the nation and they need to settle, again creating jobs for construction of homes and other buissnesses.

The Gabbers, co-working with Tony Rascan to access their newly purchased lands, have succeeded to finally reach the valley of the wilderness with a simple access sandroad to begin with. The worst part is ahead to cut all the trees and drain the land to create a decent road towards their lands and the Highway's futur sites. The road comes in from Bluebay through the bluebay rivervalley. Tony Rascan's plans for the terrain he purchased aren't sure yet, but many many rumours surround the latest aquirement of the Rascan Family. Maybe he found a skullrock also, the Gabbers think.

The plans for the highway were carefully studied by several architects, some of Gabber Mgs and only recently acknowlegded and accepted by the Government officials. The plan below shows in pink the actual position of Highway 30 south ending in Sandom in red, then continue in pink through the Winding River Wilderness right into downtown of Frampton only to connect again to Highway 30 north.

As heavy equipment will be delivered and needed to build the two bridges over the big river, it will be less logical to transport them over the mountains, therefor this small road on the riverside will be just perfect to do an easier and less expensive job.

«« One Monday I didn't have school and father asked me and my brother Billy (William) to come along and see the new road constructionsite in the wilderness. We flew with the *Rusty Rover* to the site, while I thought why we didn't take the road, but once there Dad started telling us about a cottage that he has started to build, something as a weekend home for the family. " I found this pond when I flew over the terrains with Mom a couple of weeks ago and we decided right there below to build a little cottage" he yelled trying to overcome the noise of the airplane's motor. "Fishing will be charm here, I've seen a lot of nice trouts," dad added with a sidly smile while looking at me.
That of course lightened up my interest and I checked out every bay of the large pond that I could throw my line in while we made a big circle before landing. We landed on the pond and by now father must know the pond's dangers for him to land on a shallow water like this. The water was clear as glass with a light tint of emerald green. It was beautiful.»»

After the landing John Gabber showed his sons the foundation of the new cottage that will be situated all alone on the pond's southern end. This is another partial lot that he bought for family use only he told us. Charlie told his Dad that the place chosen was the best on the lake.

And then they took the red pickup and went to the actual construction site of the road where dozens of people were busy doing what they were payed to do. Heavy machinery all over the place were breaking the silence of the valley.

John went from one place to another seeing how things were coming along and then they visited the logs that were piling up to small mountains.
«« " You better get some more trucks on this Andy, before we run out of room for the logs," Dad said to the foreman responsable for the logging, who nodded positively." Besides the Ryker Sawmill in southbay, isn't there anyone closer around? We're going to have a lot of wood once we reach the Riverjunction. Talk to Mike about it, maybe he will find someone who's willing to build a sawmill right here somewhere."Dad added. The forman got on his way to find Mike Allheimer, the big boss of this construction site. Oh yeah.... now I remember, it's the same Mike as we went fishing with when we found the skulls.»»

After lunch with the loggers and workers, John and his sons went back to the plane and then head back to Bluebay. It was a satisfying day for both John and his two sons who had a lot of fun visiting the first road into the Winding River Wilderness.

That's enough for today. Have a nice weekend and hope you like this part with a lot of new Nexis props that will be soon available. Have a nice weekend.

mrb ;)
