this is one of the cities im working on...

as you can see its not finished yet.

its about half a million peeps up to date and its just the city core

its planned to reach about 5million people...

I'd like to show of my small island of King's Port, this is not the entire city though it is less than half. i would appreciate any critiques. Also keep in mind, i LIKE to use trhe Maxis buildings and try to make a realistic downtown using those. (though it is hard)

Notables to point out: Sportsplex (upper left corner); Boardwalk (center right)

I'm not really a big fan of grid based city-building (I tend to experiment with diagonals and orthogonals), but unsing only maxis stuff, you don't really have a choice (I personally think maxis should've included diagonals). I have to say though, it looks great considering you only used maxis stuff (altough you might've wanted to turn off the UDI icons

) But believe me when I tell you that the stuff on the LEX/STEX is like a stairway to heaven for making realistic cities (have a look at some of the MD's).

Well, I have been slowly working on this one for a long time! Here are 2 from half of the city. I realize that it is bare in spots , but I'm slowly adding on.

This is my city center. It looks somewhat better now, but I only have this old image. I used Chicago and New York tilesets only (plus some modern buildings growing in every sets)
I will build a new city center with modern buildings only.
