Wow!  The region view looks wonderful, but the close ups of the town are even better!  Great job!

Debussyman - Actually Lutetia has not been on my mind when constructing Bromia, but I can see why you would think so. The main inspiration for this town is Colonia Agrippina and Argentorate. I think when we get further into its development you might recognize some of the features of these cities.

Kelis - Not medieval yet, still some centuries to go before we reach that period. :) And again thanks for the chariot and horse model.

Will - Thanks for commenting

Paladin - No stress here, this is purely for fun, thanks for your enthusiastic response.

Battlecat - Thanks, always a pleasure to see you here.

Tomas Neto - Thanks for stopping by.

Kodlovag - Indeed that is what I am aiming for at the moment. Nice of you to stop by.

Sumwonyuno - Nice to see you back here at SC4D, and thanks for commenting.

Update 13
This is an overview of the region of Ara Bromia the centre of Bromian settlements. The area is dominated by the Rhine and the estuaries of the Leine and the Enne rivers. The south bank of the Rhine is low country prone to periodic flooding and the Romans have started constructing dikes. The villages along the rivers are all on higher ground or on these new dikes protecting them and their inhabitants when the level of water starts rising.
Despite the problems of high water the town of Bromia is in the perfect spot to become a centre of trade and travel.

That's great to know  ;)
I initially tought Lutetia because of the island location and the city layout with the temple and religious grounds on the east and the goverment/military on the west or the island...

Great region shot, eagerly waiting for new updates

Loved the region shot!

This MD has created a niche of its own, and no MD, on this site or otherwise, can top it in terms of historical ones.

Great Job :)

It's pretty amazing that its going on for a year

That's a great region you're working Gjermund. I might have to give it a try my own self. I always enjoy your updates, what a unique journal.

Teaser update 14
We are taking a small look at the start of the Roman marine base at Portus Fons Seltus, this new port is just north of Castra Hiranium.
There has already been constructed a small temporary camp and the legionnaires have begun work on clearing the area that will be used as a military shipyard.

Overview of the area

The forest along the riverbank is being cut down

The first reinforcements are arriving, this flotilla will use the port that is being built here as their base.

In the next update we will see the completed port, shipyard and the new civilian settlement.
And I will of course take time to answer all of you personally.

Heelo Gjermund!

Love both updates on the page - the region view with the unregulated rivers as well as the beginning of the Roman port. Incredible what you did with the game to reach the point where you are now!  &apls

BTW Hope you don't mind but in Mainz, the home town of my mum, they found some Roman ships during excavation works appr. 25 years ago and erected a museum for them. Most probably you heard from them, if not, I have three links for you in case you are interested: ;)

Take care and don't forget to make backups!

Great update. Also I love the region view.  ;D

Very nice teaser Gjermund.  &apls

The rivers, the boats, the... whatevers. This remains one of the most stunning Regions under construction and I agree with Bernhard that you're taking the game to a completely new level.
I'm looking forward to your next offering of roman history.

Nice update there Gjermund? The boats are really great looking, also as that lookout tower. And that "mise en scène", scenario is really well done.

Take care,
