Thanks for all comments

Here's another type of suburb common in scandinavian countries. Mid/Highrise buildings from the 60's to 70's in blocks outside the city center.

Awesome job on those suburbs, metasmurf  :thumbsup:!  I like how each house in the first picture demands it's own bit of recognition when you look at it, but how the lower class homes all meld together.

I love how people put housing communities on the small islands...it looks really good!  I've never done it myself...I'm not too much for experimentation, unfortunately  &mmm.  I need to, and I think I will as I go along, since I have so many things to experiment with, and so much inspiration from these pictures to do so  ;)!

<Edit>
Well, since no one posted again, I guess I'll just add on to this thread with some pictures of my own (it's been so long since I've actually contributed, which is sad since I started this thread... :-[). Anyways...

First, riverside shots, starting with Orchard Valley:

An overview of the small "across the river" land on a large city tile

And a specific part of that land (at dusk):

Now for hillside shots, starting with just a random hillside shot:

What I like to call "Green St.":

And the worst suburb ever!!:

Nice work Masochist. :thumbsup:

Must be pretty hard getting in and out of the building in your "worst suburb ever" ;D
