No, thank you!

Welcome to page 10!

I've been working on new skins lately:

Ambulances to match SW77's EMT-EMS ambulances

A few slightly improved international police cars to be added to as i think of more:
French:

Spanish:

German:

Illinois State Police widely requested by way of ST chat:

Modern Swedish police

And that's all I feel like posting for the moment... I will post more soon, but I can assure you that there are two skins which... well... they're just a surprise. ;)
My days here are numbered. It's been great and I've had a lot of fun, but I've moved on to bigger and better things.

Why, certainly: None of them do! :D I'll do a Montpelier one soon.

The one for Spain and Germany aren't based on any particular city, either, but based on styling from most police cars, plus more interesting graphics I added. ;D

n-m-2k8-yeah

Is the yellow british ambulance available anywhere or is it still to be included in one of the packs?

Neil

Heblem

Excellent work! I do really like those modern police cars...  ;)

Just a small request if you can do some of these corrupt police car... (ignore the charros  :D)

nerdly_dood

Actually I've already done a set like that (Similar but not entirely the same - based on a few police vehicle props in one of the LBT prop packs)

The yellow British ambulance has not been released yet - it will be in a pack of ambulances I'll release when ready.

And I have a few new skins:

Random police car based off the Japanese style:

Generic French municipal police, based off Montpelier (which from what I've seen looks very similar to other cities' police cars)

Several cities and towns in the US use this design:

A police car based off Woodbridge Twp, NJ police, with credit to CodytheMonkey by way of ST Live Chat:

But the real Woodbridge police cars are boring, so I spruced it up:

City of Portsmouth, VA sheriff:

Dark gray police car:

Also available in a no-see-um paint job:

Generic police car:

Generic sheriff car:

And last, about a week ago I was bored and without inspiration, so I came up with these: (They are not intended to make any statement at all about the administration of ST or SC4D - simply based on the color and font scheme of the forums)
SC4D police:

ST police (I might want to tweak the colors...)

I have, under somewhat unpleasant circumstances, come across a computer with pretty decent performance overall (a mediocre integrated video "card", but that can be solved for less than a hundred dollars) which runs Windows XP... meaning... that since my mom died last week, I have inherited her computer, enabling me to turn some of these textures I've been making into actual skins for the vehicles, and perhaps much more.  My first concentration will be on requested items (yes, you, une_ame ;)) then ambulances and then after that... who knows... ;D

There are a few new skins, but I'll probably keep those secret (more or less...) you can find them if you know where to look

So yeah... I have XP now, a few more computer problems riddles, and a restored ability to re-skin SC4 automata!
Farewell, Vista! And good riddance, too... %ban%

EDIT: I've tried a bit of fiddling around, and I'm back on track! I'm a bit overwhelmed by all that I have to do... But it's nothing I can't handle ;)

Really? That was unexpected. Sorry to hear about your recent passing like that. The way how fate makes things happen is beyond words. Its great to hear fate had you get back to the XP again. Hope that makes a big easier difference. Me on the other hand, am sticking with the Vista, just because I can zap through those Mac ads like Tivo with the entertainment feature, and remarkably SC4 runs alot faster with opening those run on menus then the XP could. As always your reskining is appreciated since I myself can't do texture editing because of the V word. We can only hope Microsoft does better then both XP and Vista combined once the next operating system- http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windows-7/beta-download.aspx -is on store shelves next year. What a hosed up name for an OS. I don't think switching to 7 or XP is worth it for me, too hard.

Thanks for your sympathies...

Oh, um... a bit of progress:

That's a screenshot from Ilive's Reader - I haven't saved any of them as completed mods yet.

And a double-post to show yet more progress, thanks to Swamper77:

Yes, the car's body is blocky, but that won't be a major problem for most normal in-game views.

That lightbar will be a standard feature in all future releases, and eventually I'll get around to adding it to existing mods ;)

And just to clarify:
Quote from: nerdly_dood on February 15, 2009, 04:04:17 PM...thanks to Swamper77
What I meant by that was that he privately sent me a tutorial on how to add it to the model, not that he did it for me.

I've also used the skin for the 90s Chevy Caprice police cars to make a handful of skins for an old, filthy beater cop car for a rural town - here's a sample:

&Thk/( I'll probably add a bit more filth and grime lower down...

Nerdly, I'm sorry to hear about your mom.  You and your family are in my thoughts.

You're doing a great job with these civic vehicle skins!  Keep up the good work!

Can you make a Montgomery County, MD police car, please? A picture:

can choose from the 2 lightbars in pic:

(only front car has county police paint scheme, but many county police cars have the blue and blue lightbar)

nerdly_dood

#199
There are a few changes now: New skins will no longer include the lightbars, but rest assured, they will be included in the model. (Yes, that means versions of the Montgomery County police cars will be available with red/blue or blue lights, or perhaps both can be used at once)

Another change is that some textures - but not all - will be 4 times the original size to accommodate much more detail, such as the thin lines in this Romanian police car:

And another without thin lines, making a big texture unnecessary:

One version of Eugene, OR police [Another version will be added shortly]

Some existing textures have been enlarged to the new size so I could improve the detail - but which ones are for me to know and you to find out. ;)
