Thats a great brittish styled town! You have a good story to go along with it too!

Tomas Neto

Bernhard, my friend, and once again you managed amaze us with a splendid update!!!  &apls &apls &apls
Awesome!!!

kbieniu7

I don't want to write too much, so:
Great! I love this river  &apls
Thank you for visiting Kolbrów, and for being for last ten years!

kwakelaar

Well, I must say Thorsten must be a very important person in the village, his trinkhalle got the most prominent position in town. :D
I like Leonhardt, especially the covered bridge and the small river running through it.
I was looking at your previous update with the forest, I have one small comment. I would think that there should be larger patches of the same trees, now it is looking a bit too much.

Fabian93

Well it's not the first time, that I see pictures of that fantastic village, since I've been following that competition on the german Simforum &apls
I'm still amazed by the way you build your forests and rivers - they just look so real, especially with those trees by SimFox &apls
I recently tried out your tutorial on building forests, and I just came here to thank you once again for that tutorial. It made my forests look way better .

Keep up the fantastic work,
Fabian :)

metarvo

This is a very good village, Bernhard.  I really like MattB's housing there.   As far as the competition goes, I can't wait!
Find my power line BAT thread here.
Check out the Noro Cooperative.  What are you waiting for?  It even has electricity.

Hello to All!

Again it's update time. This time I'll show some pictures I made for the Simforum Village Competition that I couldn't show due to the sheer amount.

But as allways before we start:

rooker1: Hi Robin! :) Glad you like the last update, so I guess you're going to like this one as it contains some more details I couldn't show before! ;)

Battlecat: Well, at least I would think I could say that I am not a complete rookie anymore ...   ::)

Earth quake: Thanks for the compliment my friend! :)

danielcote: Well, it should be a German one, but with all these Gascooker and Zero7 Bats ...  :D
And yes, though I am not a big storyteller I like to reflect what might have happened in my villages and towns!

Tomas Neto: Thanks for the compliment my friend! :)

kbieniu7: Glad you liked and visited me! ;)

kwakelaar Hello Gjermund, I already missed you but I guess RL and Andau kept you busy!?!
About Thorsten, well, the alternative to Thortsen on a saturday adternoon would me mowing the lawn, tidying up the garage or something like that so Thorsten IS important!
And the forest, well, other than mixing the tree models I couldn't get the desired density without loosing the structure of the trees. ;)

Fabian93: Welcome to Urland my friend! Glad you could use my tutorial, hope to see the results soon in one of your great mosaic in Empire of Leviathan.
BTW Congrats on the well deserved OSITM!  &apls

metarvo: Thanks my friend. BTW: you're banned by TKoB! %ban%  :D

The Thematic competition is up an running! And I am sure we'll see tons of marvellous pictures there!

But now let's go in medias res and start:

Update 12a: A little bit more of Leonhardt

I'm not commenting a lot today - most is said in the update before! ;)

An overview from another angle

The railway station and the Sudetensiedlung. It was a lot of work for Dozer 07 but eventually it was worth it! :)

I like that mix of farm, forest, residential and commercial/industrial.  :satisfied:
And yes, that is a level crossing ...  ::)

The Sudetensiedlung from another angle.

The serpentine and the Qualch going down to the valley.

Still one of my All Time Favourite Churches!

The first time I found an adequate spot for this nice bridge!

I didn't wanted to let the fields go untill the creek so I created a small forested valley.

View from the other side of the Qualch

I just love that one!

Not far from my parent's house a stable is situated almost the same as here!

A closeup with some small important yet most of the time overseen details ...

And with this closeup we say Good Bye to Leonhardt. More villages are to come, and there is still the SC4D Thematic competiton ...

Have fun!

Bernhard

2010.8.14 - I can get on the Internet at home.:)

Yan077

wow, very nice !!!
I love the first picture, all is very well planed, especially the winding road around the village and the residential area

Bravo  &apls

kbieniu7

Very nice and cosy village  :) The fourth picture reminds me one place in my city :D
Thank you for visiting Kolbrów, and for being for last ten years!

Battlecat

Nice update!  I like the mixture of trees you're working with.  The aspen grove is a great touch!

kwakelaar

Nice update from Leonhardt, I like the farm on the hill from picture 12.13, I know quite a few farms from Norway looking like that.

WC_EEND

Well, I suppose some things never change which is good because I've never seen such beautiful rural landscapes before. Also, I like the fact that you keep your pictures "pure" (they don't look look like they just went trough 3 days of photoshopping (sorry if they did))
and also for old time's sake (and because some things never change and also because our good friend hasn't been used too much lately): %ban%
RIP Adrian (adroman), you were a great friend

Hello to All!

No, this time no update, just a teaser and a question. I am about to prepare two updates for you from a map under construction, only one corner is presentable, and I want to know which one you'd like to see first ...

But before as allways:

Tomas Neto: Thanks for the compliment! :)

Bobbi: Danke schön!  :) Unfortunately I don't know how to use chinese letter in order to answer you ...  &ops

Yan077: Merci pour le compliment. J'aime bien lire les compliment d'un grand créateur de MD ... ;)
Thanks for the compliment. :) Nice to read this from the creator of a great MD! ;)

kbieniu7: Thanks for the compliment! :) Yes, some scenes seem to be rather universal ...  ::)

Battlecat: I tried some other but this way I liked it the best (as you did ...) ;)

kwakelaar: Yes, that corner turned out nicely. :) Luckily the "right" farm grew ...

WC_EEND: No, they are not PS except for rescaling, sharpening due to rescaling and the descriptions. I try to keep my pictures pure and shoot the screenshots the same way as I would shoot photos IRL as I mainly want to show (and see) the art of SC4, not so much the art of PS ...
And well, speaking of our friend: %ban%

danielcote: Thanks for the compliment! :)

OK, now for the teaser and the question. On one of the first maps on my recent region a lot of areas ... well ... are in dire need of a severe redo despite the fact that the main traffic arteria is ok as it is now. However one corner turned out rather nice:

So, where do you want me to start:

A

Hainingen, a small village, some industry, some farms and a nice railway station:

or

B

suburbia. lots of homes in a rather standart street layout, quite some farms and wood and a little bit of railway:

The choice is up to you!

Have fun!

Bernhard

Battlecat

Cool idea to put this up for a vote!  While they do look nice, I can see why you'd want to tweak those two areas some.  I'm going to vote for Option A first due to the presence of the railway.  Knowing you, I'm sure you've got some ideas simmering to improve the train station around that industrial area a touch!

Looking forward to seeing what you've got in mind for both sites though!

calibanX

I rather like area B the way it is. I'll vote for area A. I would love to see what you do with that industrial area. I'm curious to see how this develops.

Well I think it would be difficult to improve B, so I'll go A as well. Although there isn't a lot to improve there either but looking forward to see what you come up with.

Dave

Swesim

I´ll go for B since I like A the way it is.
