Lots of different styles and buildings put together for the financial district, and nice work on all the parks in this update.

bat

Great update and pictures there! Nice financial district!

calibanX

Excellent choice of buildings in the financial district Bruce. They look so...... financial  ;)

Some great work there Bruce. The ancient city is nicely done, especially liked the building names  :D

The financial district looks very good too. That's not a stargate disguised as a sculpture along the waterfront I hope. There'd be monkeys everywhere  ::)

Tomas Neto   Salutations! I hope you have a great start to the new year as well.

Kwakelaar    Dank U. I am delighted that you enjoyed the last update.

bat    Thank you – I am glad to see you back again and am pleased you enjoyed the update.

calibanX   Thanks! I am glad you liked it. I wonder if it's financial enough to qualify for a multibillion dollar bailout. I am standing by with open wallet...

tooheys    Thanks. I am glad you liked the two last updates. You have a keen eye. But, the sculpture is a Bohr Model and not a stargate. But, you never know when a stargate will come in handy!

And you will find a new Monkey Island update soon. In the mean time, if you have any thoughts about Monkey Island, please feel free to share. Now, off to the chocolate covered bananas...

Thinking Warm Thoughts: Puerto del Mono

Brought to you by our exclusive sponsor:

And now, the feature presentation.

South of Chimpania and near the tip of Monkey Island is the quaint, rural town of Puerto del Mono. In this subtropical climate, residents enjoy long growing seasons and pleasant temperatures. Illustrious farmer Gorilla N. Mist has grown the prize winning grape in this year's Monkey Island National Fruit Challenge. Let's see where he makes his magic happen.

Here are our winners, Mr. & Mrs. Gorilla N. Mist

To visit, we first arrive by the quaint ferry port located on Banana Bay.

The small town hugs the coast because the hills are steep and come almost to the shoreline.

We turn to go up the hill to the farmland above town.

No texting while driving – there are big rocks just off the side of the road.

We pass the farm of Baron Vanilla von Maxis on the left.

He has a great view of the town, though.

Once we pass Count Chocula's boutique winery, we are almost there.

At last! Now to sample those delicious grapes!

Yeah my friend, very nice update!!! Great!!!

Bruce, if you are not getting cease and desist letters from Grant Wood's [linkie] descendants, they aren't paying attention.

I've been off the island for way too long- you have a great thing going here, and I'm always amazed by something every time I come by.

I'll be watching for Monkey Prize over at the Brown Jug [linkie].  Always up for something new...

I love it. I agree with the statement made above. Something you create or post makes me laugh every time I stop by. One question though regarding Spinal Map...can monkeys count to eleven?

Excellent work as always.

Take care.

$%Grinno$% No Grant Wood monkey business.   :P

Nice update!  That first picture really makes me chuckle!

kwakelaar

Great entertainment, and nice to have a laugh looking at the images you are creating.
Looking at the steep hill with the police cars, I'd say you really need to have some speed before you start climbing. Not for the faint-hearted.  :)

Tomas Neto   Obrigado. I hope you enjoyed the update.

bat    Thanks! I am glad you liked this update.

Tomas Neto    Obrigado! I am pleased you enjoyed this update.

dedgren   David! Glad to see you back here at the island. And, your first glass of Monkey Prize is on me at the Brown Jug. Cheers!

calibanX    Thanks. I am reasonably certain that monkeys can count to 11, but 10 fingers and a tail should work pretty well. ;) I am glad you enjoyed the update.

scott1964    LOL – no monkey business around here. Hehehehe!

Battlecat    Thanks! I am glad you enjoyed this update.

kwakelaar    Thanks! Those steep hills remind me of home. I had a car with such a small engine that I had to speed up at the bottom just to crest the hill at ~20 kmh.

warconstruct    Merci! I am glad you liked this update.

Looks good! Hm, Monkey Island has cars while Schulmania doesn't... Hills are just as steep as they were back in Schulmania, though.

I recognize the problem from my first "car" as well, a small bus shared by 8 students, we used to cause some havoc on the main roads in Norway whenever we took it out for a spin.

And may the force be with you! .....Luke?
