A lot of lovely new maps you've uploaded here! ;) It does seem like I'm having an error with one of them, being the Macau map :/
Installed it perfectly, open a city, worked fine, opened another (to get rid of them SC4Mapper textures), crashed... :s Tried again and it just keeps on crashing (even when running vanilla)... What to do?

Its this tile (LINK to image): http://img13.imageshack.us/img13/3532/macaurotated1.jpg

Thx ;)
I don't think the map is at fault, unless there is a very low or very high spot hidden in that tile
You can check it in SC4TF
Usually ctd on city loading indicate a missing texture for the terrain mod

Can also be SC4Mapper that doesn't create the save file correctly, however I don't really see why it happens on this city only
Can you upload the city savefile just after SC4Mapper created it ( without running SC4 ) somewhere and PM it to me please ?

Hi Dob,

I have a question first, hopefully followed up by a request if possible. I play on this region created by blade2k5, who I understand to no longer be active. The region itself is here. The region is no longer big enough for my needs and I hate to abandon my beloved Siilijoki. I was wondering if it would be possible for you to help me expand it. I understand this is a somewhat unusual request but would be very grateful if you could help. If it does turn out to be possible I'd be happy to go into detail about the area I'm hoping for. I look forward to hearing back from you.

Cheers,
Noah

Fantastic work, Dob. Your maps never cease to impress. ;D

Noah, I think that the best option in my opinion is to edit the config of the region and then terraform the tiles using terraformer or by hand, it's up to you.

Not sure about the terraformer thing though, terraformer doesn't like Windows 8 :P

Oh yeah and congrats, dobs for getting a CML!

No, what Noah is asking is indeed possible, and shouldn't be too hard.  All that has to happen is to make a new map of the same area (covering the new larger extent that noah wants) and then overlay a .png export from the old map (that noah was nice enough to link) onto the new map as a guide to line up the city borders.  The new map has to be cropped so the new city borders fall on the same pixel as the old city borders.  It may sound hard getting it down to the pixel but its the same level of tolerance we use in placing watermasks and trimming the maps anyways, and it should actually be easier than that with PS overlays, snaps, and resizing the canvas.  Then you just import the old cities into their same place in the new region.... presto.  ...Although the underwater border between new and old would be off because those are purely handdrawn by the mapmaker, but it's underwater so who cares?

Most of all, never underestimate what dobs can accomplish.

sunv123

I didn't mean that dobs couldn't do it, i meant that Noah had cities built on the existing region ( If you follow Siilijoki, you'll know ;) ) and didn't want to abandon them. That's what I meant, not having a new region or such. So he had been playing on this region until there was no more room for what he wanted and needed that SAME region to be larger that the existing area, maybe stretching way farther.

Of course dobs can do it, he can do anything with his trusty ol' map-o-matic. :D

Swordmaster

Victor, you know you can import cities from existing regions, right? No reason to lose anything.

&blush Never knew that, always thought that you could, but never really did anything. Now I can import my old regions from my old computer. &idea

Thanks, Willy

G'Day Devotees,

And welcome to my new home for the next month, Thankyou to the OSITM committee for choosing me and my humble work for special display.

February is such a good month, not the least being it is that old reprobate drunkapple's and my month of birth.

I had these maps finished last week but due to other commitments was unable to find the time to render them, After returning home from work last night I rendered and got them ready for today's display.

Drunkapple has been out questing again, this time to the great river Mississippi and La Crosse. Did he return with the booty? I'll say he did, drunk never returns without the goods.

G'Day Willy,
That's right they're not all here. I have over 300 on the stex another 70 different one's on the lex, a few large scale ones kicking around with links here and there and about a dozen privately released plus about 2 dozen still unreleased, pretty close to 400.
Cheers mate.

G'Day Sunv123, Thanks and you're welcome, The rivers are good but the lakes aren't perfect. I'm in the process of updating the lakes in Raleigh and the water I used was a bit orf. It will be updated in a day or two. Cheers.

G'Day Kbieniu7 and welcome, Thanks mate. Are there other maps of Kraków?. Cheers

G'Day Portie mate, How's things going? That won't be a problem to do Washington, Cheers.

Criss longtime no hear. How ya going mate? Thanks and I haven't forgotton about Rosario either.  Cheers.

G'Day and welcome CarmineHilton, I am glad you found the cause to the problem, Drop by anytime. Thanks and cheers.

G'Day and welcome too Wouanagaine, Thanks for taking the time to help out with Carmine's issue. Thanks and cheers mate.

G'Day JM, Thanks mate and you're welcome for the rotated view. Have fun Cheers.

Noah, I can do that no probs. It of course won't be releasable as it will contain Blade's map in it but really a piece of cake and will make it something different and special for OSITM. Thanks and cheers.

G'Day and welcome Sim_link, Thanks mate. Cheers.

Yeah Sunv123, it was like making my own personal Australia Day Honours list with that.

G'Day Epic, Thanks mate for your vote of confidence.

And SunV I don't know what I'd do without my
Quotetrusty ol' map-o-matic

That's right Willy, Just don't forget to make a backup of the region first, Very bloody important. Thanks and cheers.

Some of you may wonder that I don't use a first come, first serve basis for the maps and the order they go into the map-o-matic is not the same order they escape from it, and may even think "Hey I requested a map ages ago and all these others have been released, Not fair"

This is because some are far more intricate than others and to keep things turning over I finish and release easier maps before more intricate stuff. I do not work on one map at a time, usually I have about a dozen or so cooking away in various states. So if you have a requested map, be patient it will arrive I have a current request list of about 30 maps.

The first OSITM Show.

This little number was patiently requested by Packerfan386, Thanks mate.

La Crosse is 57.244km x 57.344km.

This'll get your eyes swirdling.

Remember Phxgreenfire and the Dragon of Ha Long Bay, Thanks for this request mate.

Tségháhoodzání is 49.152km x 45.056km.

Try saying that while drinking a glass of water!!

The next cab is courtesy of a request from Ducksnake, that would probably be an Olive Python. Thanks mate

Queenstown is 53.248km x 53.248km.

High mountain lakes and high mountains in the New Zealand Southern Alps.

Tail end charlie for this edition is courtesy of a request by VMIUJcadet09, thanks mate.

Amman is 57.344km x 57.344km.

I included the northeast corner of the Dead Sea to give this map a definite sealevel datum albeit 423m below sealevel.

And so that is it for today. Be watching tomorrow, I think there is something in the wind.

Thanks for looking and have a great day.

Cheers

congrats on the OSITM, you deserve it.

you are doing the SC community a great service IMO. i dont think there is anyone else who accepts and fulfills requests as much as you do. also, despite all of the demands, requests, re-requests and such, you always keep a good attitude.

good on ya and i look forward to using your amazing maps.  &apls

Congrats dobs on getting into OSITM!
You surely are one of the premiere map makers today and I greatly thank you for all the hard work you put into everyone's request.

This OSITM is long overdue.  No one fulfills the community's requests like dobdriver.

Well said!

And 400 maps! Wow, that's amazing! I have around twenty which I visit now and again, mostly for testing tree controllers though. . If only there was enough time to actually play all of them. In any case, keep the map-o-matic churning!
