Due to the lack of intrest in this MD i am afraid to announce that i will only be posting Teaser updates here. It is not worth it to post an entire update here and oly get 2 comments... Mabye when intrest returns i will start it up at full power. But for now its near shut down...

Hey, sEAhAwk fAn121, hi.

I just saw your post noting that you're disappointed by the relatively small number of comments in your MD.  I'll use this post as an opportunity to restate advice I've given elsewhere.  Do a MD, especially in the first few months after starting it, to satisfy yourself.  Be your own harshest critic.  If you are pleased with what you are doing, chances are other folks will be as well- sooner or later.

I've liked what I've seen here, generally.  Your airport is very impressive, and I think it has garnered some pretty decent feedback.  I've lurked, I'll admit, because I haven't seen anything that makes me feel like a comment would add something, and I try to avoid the "David was here" variety of post.  That doesn't mean I'm not coming by, or won't comment after your next update.  I think most folks are a lot like me.  Think of your own reaction to 3RR- I recall you've commented there once or twice over the past year and a half.

The one thing that doesn't sit well with me (and probably most folks) is for you to cop an attitude in your MD about the whole thing.  Sort of, "well, you folks aren't commenting, so here's how I'm going to take that out on you."  Fine, "tease" us with what you are doing somewhere else.  You may garner some traffic there, you may not.  Personally, though, I think if you would focus your effort on trying to make your MD everything it could possibly be, you would see the readership you are looking for.  I don't know when, but after all this is not a pursuit for the less-than-serious about what they are doing.

My 2c, my friend.

Once again, good luck!

Hi friend Seahawk,

I agree with David from "The Mother of all MD's" here... You should be doing this MD particularly for your own pleasure. As long as you enjoy making this fascinating St Helena's airport, and putting it on the map as the Mackninac Airways hub, your time will be well spent, isn't it?  I for one am following your progress with great interest.

And, if you continue (I sure hope you will !!!) on this great airport (I know that you love working on that) and on building up a great Mackinac Airways story (probably what you love to do the most  ;), I am sure that one day it will get the interest of others as well, even if they are not airport geeks like ourselves..  ::)

So - I hope you will still continue on this airport and show your results here - be sure you have a friend in Amsterdam watching the development eagerly.

Sebes.

David and Sebes are right, do the MD for your pleasure, build for your pleasure, don't try to work on an area just large enough to fit in a picture for an update, work on the area as much as you want. I had 3 quick updates in my MD from 2 months of building, and there probably won't be another for awhile now because Ive taken a break from Sc4 for a moment. When I get back to it I'll build for my pleasure, as I enjoy creating socialist cities. And if I happen to have enough in an area for an update, I'd like to share that with the folks here at Sc4D, if I don't well they can wait. care more about building the cities for pleasure and less about making the MD.

Hello,

Sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the results of your MD here, my friend. All I can really stress is that you heed the advice that David and our good friend sebes have given you.

However, you do seem to have a slight issue with "instant gratification," and revenge against the people you're trying to coax over to your work is not the greatest strategy. You only opened this MD in August and you're in the "Ones to Watch," so it's not like you're getting no feedback whatsoever.

Whether here at SC4D or elsewhere, just work to please yourself and don't be discouraged so easily. Making an MD is as much about patience as it is about talent.

Good luck!

Dustin

Well put everyone. I also have to agree. You need to give it time for your MD to develop. If noone comments then its ok. If you have a whole lot of views it means people are looking at your updates. Its better to have more views than comments than no views at all. You need to be patient and not get upset if noone comments on your MD. You know better than that.

The other posters above me makes valid points. You cannot just expect the whole of SC4D to post their comments when you make a update. In my experence it takes a GREAT update to get well above 10 comments rather than "Heres my airport *Post pic*" and expect 30 comment for that. usually it takes more than just a airport screen to get that kind of response, like for example, a tour of the city, surroundings, and maybe a bit of storylining. Just look at MD'er of the Month section and you'll understand why they're up there, the quality of their work really pays off. I'm pretty sure they spend more time making their update than making the city itself.

In my personal opinion its pretty selfish of you to say "Ok guys, since you're not commenting I'll only show you little of my CJ and I'll go over there to "X" site and show them more because they comment more." You do realize we do have RL and are not "jumping head and foot" to post comments all of the time?

Anyways regardless, good luck on this CJ or your next 1 millionth CJ you would create.

Seahawk i do know everyone has allready spoken some great words of wisdom here.. I've counted that i've posted at least 3 times in the past few weeks since you've been running here...  I've liked what ive seen here and all i got to add is that you would be short changing yourself by not giving regular full updates here... Thats not a good attitude to have at and im a little sadden by it...

So with that all said and the others comments please make a wise choice before taking anther step, relax breath and just know that we a family community here and we are all family if you have an issue you can talk it out and not threaten.... Take it easy my friend and fellow team mate - pat

I'm sorry if your upset by not getting as many replies as you'd like, but I have to say that it happens.

There have been times (yes, i actually went back and checked all my CJs) the I've recieved 1 or 2 comments, if any. I have to pride my self on not getting upset over it, and personally I tended to use the lack of comments as fuel to make an even better update after the one that didn't get any attention.

Also, I think its rather disappointing that you feel that you have to only post teasers now that you didn't get as many comments as you expected. Kumba put it rather well when he said that we do have real life to deal with and can't always make a comment.

Although you may think that it will drive you comments and views back up, only posting teasers generally will alienate those who do make comments and most people won't bother looking at it if they know all it will be is just a teaser, which I guess in essence would be exactly the opposite of what you're trying to do...

Well, thats my ramblings...

I don't have much to add except, as you already know, I love your airport concept and I was looking forward to seeing it develope.  If you stop posting here it will be a shame for me and I'm sure many others.  I hope you reconsider.

want a suggestion?  Everything is amazing, but if you relotted a fountain or one of PK's trees onto a matching lot where the small open paved space is between the sandstone, that would look fabulous!  I also appreciate the naming of the district - it gives it a unique feel
