Hi Fledder,

I have read your MD several times. But for some strange reason I haven't commented you on it. And that for a fellow Rotterdammer. I'm ashamed of myself. ()sad()

Oh well, here is my chance to make up for it. I like the "no on-way arrow" street pic. the uniform building is so riminiscent for that typical mass building of similar houses in the 19th century. and the wijtenbachstraat building is perfect for that use. many complain nowadays that builders build entire streets at the same time. but many streets or blocks from the 19th century were made in the same way. only with slight alterations in the facades. great job on that one

I like the overall layout of Liaane in General. nice use of green and space between your buildings.

Did you recreate Rotterdam as it should have been? :P

And of course, congratulations with your entry into the hall of fame. with that great pic. nice use of your bragging rights &apls &apls &apls

Can't waut to see more.

Strech.

it's a true Liaane master piece :)

Strechnitz
Hi, yes you should be ashamed of yourself...i mean an Amsterdammer comments in here ;)...than a Rotterdammer is very welcome as well (just to keep up the 010 vibe ;)) True, but i think the mass building of similar houses style of the 19 centuty looks far more beter than the new "blokkendozen" these days,
i know in 100 years everybody wants to live in the mordern houses from this age..but i truly love those old 18th/19th century houses...they breath history and life and it looks like every house has a story to tell!! I don't try to recreate rotterdam as it should be
(because i'm still waiting on that PASSAGE people!!, Sebes knows what i'm talking about!! LOL Clik here if you don't know what i mean.!)
Mainly because i love Rotterdam the way it is now! It's a truly amazing city and it has a very different look than Amsterdam or Utrecht, IF i would recreate Rotterdam it would be full of mega high-rise on the Noordereiland and Binnenwegplein ;)

sebes
Hello my special friend  :P
QuoteI think Rotterdam needed you back than after WWII when rebuilding the city center.
so true LOL see my reply on Strechnitz's comment about that :)

Quotethe Blahdy tunnel entrance: I never, ever, got the idea to replace existing tunnels with it.
me neighter...but i took the risk...and it's working like a charm!! it's an amazing thingy!!

Quotethe picture with the no-arrow OW street: it looks so "Jan Evertsenstraat" that I can almost picture myself strolling there
aha so thats you with that purple dress on?? I knew it!!!

QuoteBut what pleased me the most is the number of people of the street! In other Liaane updates I always noticed that there were hardly people walking, but here it's like the gay-pride-parade passsing by
LOL..no that is in December...and yes...they are dressed the same as in the A'dam one :)
and this pic is specially for you!!

Quotethe open bridge in SG canals... So realistic! (but if this was RL I'd not wait for the bridge to close, but just take the other one
LOL, i didn't know what you were talking about...and than i saw the pic...and I laughed so hard...i never noticed that LOL..lets say it's a "special" brdige for those who want to wait...LOL

Quotemakes me think that you emptied your plugins and only have buidling froms VDA and Haarlemmergold left there?
True....so...true...:)

Quoteyou made me decide to take the SFBT sideway mod as well, it realy does good the city!
yes it does, doesn't it??!! wow i have some influencual powers...[insert twilightzone music here] *doedoedoedoeodoe* [/ end twilightzone music]
and how does it look in your city?? do you have a MD/CJ btw??

QuoteWould you mind ...
YES i would mind :)...lol those are on there way sweety...now stop herasing me...and enjoy the update!!

Welome back everybody!
well i've been bussy with rebuilding again
and i'll start were we left off last update!!

we are still in the Dark Blue part

I'm going to rebuild the upper part of the pic.

as you can see i demod almost everything there!
The IkEA, the grave yard and the small curly streets are all gone now!

Blahdy's big-dig looks amazing!
It blents in perfecyly with the "newly build" apartment building!

the big pond area is completely renewed.
the peddleboats are gone and the graveyard is moved to the west part of the city.
Now a trendy restaurant hangs over the water where people can eat and enjoy the view.
The ZaZa hotel is moved from the city center to the east side of the pond.

only the gate riminds people that there was a graveyard here once

remember this view?
it's all gone now!

this is how it looks now!

MOMMY...there is a tree growing in the house!!!

this is the new warehouse lane!
the old warehouses are renovated into great new appartments.
there are even some shops along the canal.
Small houses with a huge rent...just the way i like it  ;D

some old warehouses are turned into officess.
the large white/gray building is the head office of the "Rent's 'r us" corporation.
they provide the rentable houses in Liaane

omg...the Pepsi plant is near the graveyard...thats why it taste so bad ;)

the new graveyard.
the people there didn't even helped moving, they just played dead!

Picture competition entry...i lost big time!!

the weekly market is here again!

some random shots

Hangman park.
in the dark ages criminals were hanged here and later on witches were burned here.
ever since witchcraft is Legal since 1578, only the criminals were hanged.
every year the Queen lays flowers on Feb. 15th to remember the innocent woman who got acused of being witch.

This was it again people...hope you liked it!!!
Toedeledokie...and see you soon :)

Oh, thank you, Fledder! It would be an honor to live in Liaane! The new update looks great! I love the Big Dig tunnels you're using. Keep up the great work, my friend!

kwakelaar

Lots of great looking shots from Liaane. Even with the same lots growing next to each other you have enough diversity to make it look good, I especially like the market and the last close-up of the grachtenpanden.

Snaper

It's very nice, I love

Now, with the new NAM, you'll to have a feast  ;D

To quote you..."....the Pepsi plant is near the graveyard...thats why it taste so bad "

I think you've truly hit the nail on the head - however I do believe all soft-drink factories must use ground water from cemetaries to get their particularly obnoxious tatse :D

Great update

rooker1

Another great update.  I would really appreciate the info on your GLR and how many passengers you have.  I want to see if I am doing as well as others.  I have about 13000 passengers on the GLR now in a city of 28000 sims.   &mmm
Thanks in advance.

Robin
Call me Robin, please.

Fledder200

@Robin
well i looked it up for you
the average usage is between 300 and 600 comuters per station...BUT...yes there i always a butt

this is only in the new part of Liaane ( the part i am renovating).
In the old part i forgot to connect the stations with the Elovated rail track..so the trams disapear when tey hit the station and only have a comute of about 50 people.
I would love to have 13000 people on the GLR! LOL

i'll post a screen shot of a station thingy oke? :)

I too am sorry I haven't commented in a while, but believe me, I have been popping in to look around and it all looks great. I am expecting something spectacular (or rather more spectacular) now that the new NAM with its GLR delights has been released. The restaurant on the pond and your warehouse apartments from the most recent update are really well done and a pleasure to look at. Were the apts. plopped, or grown? Either way it looks great.

Strechnitz

hi Fledder,

yet another rustic upate. good job!
I espescially like hang man square. what a deliscious gruesome name. If I owned a house theire. My dingingroom walls would be painted in oxenblood red. just to check out my guests stamina ;D

 Very nice update , very colored . I like it very much, we feel the nature . very good use of it. Continue your great job. And thanks for the house  $%Grinno$%

EDGE4194

Fledder- i must admit that i somehow missed this md. I have now become caught up with all the updates and must say i am very impressed and humbled by your talents. I am looking forward to following new updates. Great job

NikNik

RL is soaking up more time than I am used to so I only follow the MD's that are close to my heart among which Liaane. Why, because it is a town as I always envisioned to build myself.

I can see I even missed quite some great downloads such as the canal pieces and the new "Restaurant" and canal fountains. Do you have a linkie for me?

I realy love that week market. it's so Dutch you know.
I also wonder when a corpse might float up in that new pond that is build on the spot where the graveyard used to be (yeah I have a sick mind).
That Big Dig looks truly amazing indeed. Very well placed as well.

So any idea where the new IKEA is going to be? No decent dutch city can be without it.

Have a great update time.

Nik-Nik

bat

Looking forward to the that picture...
