Something is fishy. It sounds like an old tribe of natives that used to live there but then they either left or died off. The question I have is why would the Govt want anything to do with it and why is it being kept so secret?  &Thk/(

mrbisonm

threestooges, glad you like what Slye (TS) is getting into, I have big plans for him this winter with many new BATs, some never seen before and some very interesting ones.

Driftmaster07, I am sure that the two bodies are NOT from the skull people because like they all said, they only lived as a legend and that some 3000 years ago, find9ing bones and skelletons would just be a real wonder. So, logically it would be the two missing bridgeworkers like John Gabber suspected. But what were they doing there, almost 2 kilometers from the bridge in the middle of the forest? And why are they dead? What happened to them?. Only the Coroner will find out, I hope.

danielcote, if you have read the story from the beginning, John and Mike found the first skullhuts while they were on a fishing trip and it was then explained more or less what these actually were, just a legend.....But now that the Government and Army is involved in this finding, it is surely not the death of the two workers that makes all that chaos in that part of the region, but maybe a serious mystery with this legend.....and like you, I'm asking myself why is it kept so secret? Hm.....?

I will have a little more news about this in the evening, but nothing is confirmed, so many rumours and no real and statements. The officials have not commented on this at all yet and I am starting to wonder if they ever will.

See you later tonight with some more pics and news....

Fred

Can't wait for tonight! Maybe a cult of the skull people? This region is not exactly normal.

My new MD. Check it out if you wish.

Adrian, I miss you man.

danielcote

Yes actually I had read that and I remember it slightly but its been a while so maybe I should do some review.

mrbisonm

Sorry, I just couldn't get everything ready tonight for the follow-up (not enough free time with the family), but I will hopefully do it for tomorrow night. It will be quite interesting. Be there!

UPDATE 30B

As promissed here is the follow-up of that event from yesterday....

This morning things are stirred up quite a lot in the region, curious people are blocking the roads everywhere and the army and police have problems to get things under control. Mike, John and Henry (John's father) went to have breakfast in the shopping mall. There they met Slye and asked him to join them. Slye , coming from his sawmill, told his adventures on the way down to Access.

««"So, how was your trip this morning," John started the conversation," any problems coming down through the controlpoint in Phlox?"
TSlye: "That was one of the worst trips I ever had in between Phlox and Access, no wonder that I have my breakfast with you guys, usually I'm already digesting it on the way down to the sawmill at the hour you guys get here." he stated with a somewhat angry face," the day really didn't start off like I wanted it and it was supposed to be a big busy day at the sawmill. Now I'm stuck here."

Mike all surprised: " What happened, you look stressed out this early?"
"Stressed out? .....Geeeez, you should see the freaking roadblock in Phlox, they're stopping everyone and ask for identification, Man.....what are they looking for? The devil himself? "

Henry started laughing and added: " Listen, once the government gets involved with their stupid things, they always exagerate it. I remember the time just before the war when we headed towards that small village in....."
"Whoa Dad, don't start it this morning, " John interrupted," we just don't have the time for it, maybe later this weekend you can tell that story" ...and John continued.." I heard that they found some old buildings out of rock from a pre-historical period, you know the skullpeople, as we learned it the elementary school as a legend?"
" Yeah, I remember" Slye and Mike mumbled.
"That legend might be a reality after all." John continued, "Let me tell you a little secret the three of us have since 4 years now, Slye. We once went fishing on the Winding River, not far from the roadblock, but on the mainriver and only a few yards inland we found such a rockskull home. We have kept it secret and all three of us bought all the land around it to maybe have a profit of the "sacred" land, except where they found something two days ago."
"Oh boy" Slye said with an intruiging voice, " are we all in trouble now, because I have some land there too?"
" Of course not," Mike jumped into the conversation, "We just don't have to tell them that we know this for almost four years, don't we?"
Silence all of sudden took over the conversation and all four looked at each other with worries.
Henry broke the silence: "Don't make a big story with nothing boys, this does not concern us at all. We bought the land as a future investment, so many others did anyways and who say we're the only ones that have such skulls on our property, maybe there are hundreds all around the area, you know, this region is big!"»»

Slye continued telling his story of his way down. First he was slowed down by a bunch of cows that some farmer has lost during the night, they blocked the road and were hard to toss over. Then he had a flat tire only a few yards away and getting to the roadblock, hundreds of cars were waiting to go through. The army was controlling the whole area and no one actually knows exactly why and when they ask officials of the soldiers all they get as an answer is: " Have a nice day now, Sir, you can pass."

pic1

A lot of curious people gathered at the roadblock , making things more difficult to handle and control for the army and police. The army started building a small trail through the brushes and woods to reach the frashly found location of the skulls with vehicules less than a kilometer away.

pic2

Later the road was completely blocked for a cessna to land on the gravel road, just about when John arrived at the location. It was the FAI people (Federal Agency of Investigation) . John knew right away that something more important than just these rockhuts or the two dead bodies were found, but had no idea what it could be.
The highway was completely shut off a few kilometers ahead and to make sure that all the cars go through the ckeckpoint. In the air helicopters and planes were active like it was wartime and John was thinking that all the public airtraffic probably is redirected also. This must be very important and he wants to find out.

On the next picture we can see the distance from the road where the "Skullvillage" was found. The Hydro Powerline workers were the first that found a bunch of skull-like rocks in a small group near the West River. Right away the place was sealed off from the public and also the powerline workers and some trees were cut down for helicopters to land. The wires on these towers have not yet been installed, making it a lot easier for the airunits to join the site, but the Powercompany now is starting to wonder when they can continue setting the lines.

pic4

So far they have found four rockskulls, that's all I know, what these are and what besides that they have found are not of my knowledge. There is more, no doubt, and I even suspect it way more serious than it seems. I guess time will tell....well.....maybe not.
The army has put up a basecamp just near the skullsite, brought in with helicopters and every square inch of the neighboring location seems to be inspected and turned over. Even some scientists or whatever these whitecoat wearing men and women are, have been seen around here. They say everything is under control, something that tells me there's a problem, ..........and there's more to it...........

Next weekend I will come back with a regular update of the region, now that the rails have reached the western borderline and the highway bridge construction over the mighty Winding River has offcially started.

Have a nice and easy week.

My new MD. Check it out if you wish.

Adrian, I miss you man.

Battlecat

Fascinating update, this really does seem to be an overreaction based on just those rocks.  Wonder what else is going on . . .

Great job with the addition details to tell the story in this area!

just_a_guy

Yes, something is a bit fishy there isn't it? A great storyline so far Fred. It leaves me waiting anxiously for the next update!

Thanks for the feedback.

Update 31
Here are some late news from Access:

Mayor Steven Bartlett from Access Center approached today the folks from Valmore South, the northern border of Access Center and offered to unite both municipalities for mutual benefits.
Ever since Valmore North joined the Phlox-county, Valmore South was kinda forgotten and left behind. The Mayor of Access sees in this not only an oportunity to enlargen the municipality of Access and its income, but also the access to the Valmore lake and the archeological finds nearby which could be of "good use", as he tells.
" One hand washes the others" he says, meaning that Access will be able to profit some advantages from Valmore and Valmore gets Access' services, helping in each other with a chance for better future. A "good deal" in his opinion for both municipalities. To join Access Center, the Mayor needs at least 65% of Valmore's votes, so that the Government will accept the joining of the two. The Valmore county will keep its name as a suburban of Access.
The vote will be held this week.

On the picture below the blue line is the borderline between the two municipalities and as we can see, Valmore and Access are slowly growing into each other, another good reason for the union of both.

So, what do you Readers think (and those who have Characters in this story)? Should they join into one town? You will represent the Voters from Valmore, so we want your opinion.
And in the picture below you can see more details of both municipalities. Valmore South now lies between Access Center and Phlox, which includes Valmore North.

I will be back later this weekend with another small update. We will visit Grasslake and some new Counties.

Korot

I vote in favour of merging Valmore South with access, as Valmore lays a lot closer to Access than to Valmore North.

Regards,
Korot

just_a_guy

I also vote for the merging of Valmore South with Access. It will definitly make Valmore have a lot more access to Access Center

Joining together is always a good idea. :) And, frankly, Valmore S. and N. are pretty much separated by farmland. But you may want some RES and COM developments in Valmore North before you separate them. Otherwise, pretty much almost no jobs in Valmore N.

My new MD. Check it out if you wish.

Adrian, I miss you man.

danielcote

Great update! I think joining will make the two stronger.

mrbisonm

Looking good for Mayor Bartlett of Access that his town will soon grow further north into Valmore South. The Mayor thanks you for voting.
Driftmaster07, You're right. Valmore North will also be in the update. There are a few changes concerning the population.

I will not have the time to make an update as promissed this week. I am leaving tomorrow morning to Calgary for a courtcase that I have there pending and I will be gone for a good week I think. Thanks for understanding.

Fred

Edit: Meanwhile continue voting for the Valmore residents............ "$Deal"$

Something is indeed odd here. If it didn't mean having to go back through that roadblock again, I'd be tempted to go check it out. Ah well. There are more pressing things to worry about at the moment, like tossing cows. What? You mean I have to go back that way? Does anyone have a boat I can rent? Nice work on the custom BATs and props Fred. The level of customization you've always brought to your work is no less impressive here. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with the saw mill (and wouldn't mind getting my hands on a few of those BATs once things get set with them) and how the story progresses. I'm also waiting to see what this big cover up is about. Scientists and all. Good luck on the case, and I hope all is well.
