Wonderful update, my friend! I love how you've used the GLR, especially. Keep up the good work!

Wow, you know what caught my eyes in that last one....
Grades... there's grades everywhere, roads, streets, avenues, even rail!!!!
Hehehe...
One of the thing I always liked in Urland, is the subtle density... it look densely populated but not crowded if you get my drift, it's a good balance between greenery, buildings and transit system.
Your cj is always a good place to get ideas!

you have a great region nardo .i like the slopes in your city. you have done them very well.
in picture 12 and 13 from the last update i think the cobb buildings are a bit out of place becouse they are looking too wealthy for the low and mid wealth buildings from the surrounding.

What I super update.  As John and Paul have just said, you have a special ability to realisticall build on slopes.  I like it alot but unfortunately, I have no patience for this.  I don't think I can ever get it right, especially on the scale you have.  Graet work my friend, I will be back.

Bonjour Bernhard!
Hope that you and your family is doing well.

Been a while since my last post here. Sorry for being a so bad replier like this...but like I said in my last PM, RL has been way too crazy this last year.

I just went through your wonderful MD and...man! WOW!...splendid job! You didn't loose your skills. Whatever if it's a small village in the middle of nowhere or a Metropolis, you continue to amaze me with your work. I espacially like your rolling farms just like in the 18.4 pic from the Silverstein's update. Farmers would need powerful engine in their tractors for sure!  :D

I'm glad to be back and hopefully will come more often.
See you soon!

Nice update. I really enjoyed the rural railway shots. Realism at its best.

QuoteHmm

I have a vague memory of an Aussie who always talked about master (some lazy older SC4 plaer) and apprentice (himself). Rumours say that that apprentice hits the OSITM twice as much as with his MD now being a classic that other lazy player whose MD is still in the Bestsellers section ...

Now who said that  ::)

Well "the master" seems to have also made it to OSITM again. Well done Bernhard, it is well deserved.
Now if you would just stop being so lazy, you might just make it to the Classics  :D

Congrats my friend

Now let's get some of those fantastic train pics you always have.

Hello to All!

Boy, what are you doing with oldtimer Nardo's poor ol' heart? You don't think nothing special, just check the New Replies to see if your last railway pic is shout out of the competition by some young dudes, oh, someone posted in my MD, and then

Of Special Interest This Month!

Your really got me this time again!!!

I just have the problem that in the last weeks I worked more in LE and Reader than played SC4, and in addition to this there is a small dwarf who also consumes quite some of my time  so I went through my old pics to find you some nice pictures together. And - surprise, surprise - the theme of this collection will be - railways! (BTW, did I ever tell you by chance that I do love railways?)

But before we start the same procedure as every year:

Ennedi: Thanks for the compliment my friend! :)
Actually Rhenbrücken unfortunately is never finished and most probably will never be ...  ()sad()
About blending textures: like IRL I like everything tone in tone. There are exceptions but with my friend dozer 07 I'll keep them being exceptions and not becoming a rule.:! ;)

warconstruct: Merci beaucoup mon ami! :)
About terraforming in General I do only rework the map that I once imported as a greyscale bitmap. I love building on slopes so I alway put a lot of attention and afford into them!

paroch: Thanks for the compliment my friend! :)
Yeah, I guess we have at least one favourite BAT in common I guess  And about the infected city: I still regard it as "Under Construction" ... ;)

thundercrack83: Thanks for the compliment my friend! :)
Actually despite of a handful of CTD I really enjoyed playing with GLR in Rhenbrücken. I guess you can see the joy I head while building them - (and you may know another reason by now why you will most probably never see a custom airport from me ...  $%#Ninj2 )

ma360: Thanks for the compliment! :)

Darmok Thanks for the compliment, John! :)
Yeah, I never liked it flat I guess, right from the start I was using them and I might say I am not the worst SC4 player when it comes to slopes I presume ...  :D Well, I don't like it too dense, and for making nice pictures I have to built in a way I like so ... ;)
And about getting ideas, I couldn't have done these pictures with the terraforming techniques I learned in AVR ;)

squidi Thanks for the compliment my friend! :)
About the Cobb, I must confess I don't know at the moment if they are R$$ or R$$$ but they are a bit too much. Without the pox I guess some of them would have become the lunch of my friend Dozer 07 ...  &mmm

Pinchman Merci beaucoup mon ami! C'etait une très belle surprise de te revoir ici! :)
I hope I didn't make too much mistakes! Your comment about tractors made me think of adding something there BTW, well let's see! ;)
I didn't forget to answer your PM, I just haven't found it yet

metasmurf Thanks for the compliment! :)

thundercrack83:  (2nd reply)

I really didn't expect this ...

paroch: (2nd reply)
Thanks for the compliment my friend! :)

Thanks for the compliment my friend! :)

sebes: Thanks for the compliment my friend! :)

pat: Thanks for the compliment my friend! :)

tooheys Thanks for the compliments my friend! :)
Well, comparing your speed and mine there will be a MD Olympic class untill I reach the Classics ...  :D
What was my first comment in your MD? "The holidays are over ..." :D

bat Thanks for the compliment my friend! :)

Pinchman (2nd reply) Merci beaucoup encore une fois! Untill know we can sleep some hours until he needs More milk or the pampers are full - a nice little "Hosenscheißer!"

rooker1 Thanks for both the compliment and the idea, Robin!
I mean, me and railway, I guess noone would think I could them, wouldn't you?  :D

Pkay, here we are with the

OSITM Special No. 1

As I told you I spent more time in Reader and LE the last weeks than in SC4, and a bit later I will show on what I am working. But now I have some nice railway pictures for you - Enjoy!!!

Let's start where the last regular update finished: in Sillberstein:

The entrance signal of Silberstein with my embankment lots - one of the three projects I am working on at the moment!

Behind the hill (and the place of the next regular update ;) ) is Quirnstein, a very old village with a small flag stop. The Signals are only used when needed for freight trains in the small freight station, otherwise they show "Approach".

You know this area from a different angle .. ;)

Sommern is a medium map not far away from Silberstein. Here you can see a small flag stop, again the signal is on approach unless additional traffic makes it necessary to secure the small freight station.

Oreberg will be a small town with a rather large railway station at the coast. Not much is finished here though ...

Same location different view ...

Rather new pics from Aynuren. One pic of Aynuren was recently in the competition, it failed with 10-9 in the first round against Dave's picture. I may put it into the competition once again ...

I hope you like them - there are some more waiting ... ;)

Have fun (And don't forget to make backups!)

Bernhard

rooker1

I did like the update, very much my friend.  The fifth and sixth pics are my favourite.  They seem to be the most realistic in my opinion.  The bridge over the rail and the perfect slope up to the road way.  Just like I've seen before.  It takes some patience to do this type of terraforming just right.  And you do a great job at it.

Robin

Wow, I'm surprised I havn't stopped by as much as I should. I really enjoyed this update here and its great to see that you spend time in LE now. That first picture in the update is my favorite. I can remember going to a friend's house once in Virginia and behind his backyard fence was a steep hill about 15 m high then there was the metro line and another embankment about the same height on the other side covered with trees. I enjoyed sitting there and watching them go by for awhile, and that picture reminds me of it alot. Great job on the lots also.
