Super news my friend.  Really good to hear all is well.  Congratulations to your new familr member, Mehmet Dennis and to you and your wife.  Your life has now change, changed for the better of course.
I wouldn't dream of anything different than what I have at home waiting for me.  Two boys and my beautiful wife.  ;)
What I like best is when they fall asleep on your chest.  ()stsfd() Call me a big sap, what ever, I don't care.  Until you actually experience it, you can't possible have the same opinion.
I hope we still get a chance to hear from you, as it was difficult for me for a while to fit everything into the new busy shedule.
Good luck with everything, although, I'm you won't need it.

Bernhard - Many Congratulations.  And I was wondering why there was no update ;)

Robin is right that time will treat you differently now - there is so little time in each day!

Enjoy these early days with your son and your wife - they truly are special times, that go so quickly.  My kids are now teenagers and that is a whole different experience!

All the best,

Hello to All!

Last update was RL update, now I am doing a SC4 update again... let's see how my pre-valentine present lets me continue here ...  ;)

But before we start:

freedo50: Thanks for the hint, that worked!  :) Even such an old player like me has to learn new it seems ...  :D

krio: Thanks for the compliment! :)

tooheys: Well, it has been a bit coffee, but not too much. At least you can say as an average two updates per month ... ;) :D

bat: Thanks for the compliment my friend! More railways here, but mechanical signals and no catenaries ...

paroch: Welcome to my small MD here ... :)
About the rolling fields, well I may say that I might have been the first who did them by intention, and I guess they were a reason why I got the Trixie award in 2006. And the villages, well, I am a child from a village living in a metropolis, their picture is in my heart and I guess that's why I love to do them ...
I did the four splits initially to decrease the number of pics and therefor the bandwidth but then I began to like them. One of them is in this update, too! ;)

kwakelaar: Thanks for the compliment my friend! Yes, (heavy / manufactural) industry and railways belong together IMHO, and with royal's railway signs it's just more fun than ever to do a nice railway!

bobinator: Thanks for the compliment! :)

rooker1: Thanks for the compliment, Robin! :)
Well, for me an Update is an update in presenting my region map by map, they are numbered. A Mini - update is outside that scheme showing something special where I was working at the moment - like these railway signs. That doesn't necessarily mean a reduced number of pics ... ;)

azuil: Thanks for the compliments! :)
Well, the signals aren't available at the moment, this is more or less betasting and showcasing of SFBT projects under developement (I am SFBT Betatester ...)
My railway stations are mostly the modded version from the SimCityKurier, Linkiehere is the link.

thundercrack83: Thanks for the compliments, if you look closely you'll see something special in this update, too ... ;)

Nardo69: Nice little boy!   :)

Andreas: Thank you very much! :)

rooker1 Robin, you are perfectly right. Every things changes but it is better that way. I don't know if I can handle my old "rythm" but at least I have an update here for you!

Update 18.1: Silberstein

Silberstein is a small jerkwater village somewhere between nowhere and Never-heard-off. The most extra-ordinary and exciting thing here is the small railway line that has survived all railway modernisations shutdowns in the past 100 years. Only some railway crossings received automatic signs ...  ?$%kar&%h

A small village in the middle of nowhere, just some agriculture and a little bit of industry surrounded by lots of wood ...

The railway station is the center of the village. The local passenger trains meeting each other here, because of this the railway station received new platforms.

A project in the LE that I am doing at the moment are lots for embbankments with and without telegraph wires. How do you like them? In the lower right corner you find the situation before I plopped them ...

The passenger traffic is rather small, short motorwagons have always been sufficient here ...

The steam era was finished here rather early in the beginning of the sixties. Pictures with steam trains in this area like this picture form 1958 are rather seldam.

50 years later and nothing has changed ...

With this freight train leaving Silberstein I will finish this update. Next update we will to the other direction along the railway line.

Until then

Have fun! (and don't forget to make backups!)

Bernhard

bat

Great work there on Silberstein! The railways are looking there very good! And wonderful pictures of the trains and freight trains!

Silberstein looks really nice and cozy, great job on it.
I also like the embankment lots, the railway tracks look much more realistic with these.
Would be nice, if you would release them.

Looking good, my friend!

I love the hills that you've built on, it gives everything a very realistic feel.

Keep up the good work!

Hey Bernhard!
Again, congrats for the coming of your son.
Wishing the best for him in life.

Updatewise... I see that you still do (very well) those rolling farms, you know that you influenced me a lot woth that style, I now find it difficult to play on a flat terrain!
I really like that black and white picture of the "old" freight train. Great presentation!

Take care

Hello my friends!

Some of you may have heard of the prop pox. One of those who are suffering of the prop pox is me - for details please check this thread.

My infected city is Rhenbrücken. It should have been the capital of Urland and the biggest town in my region. A lot of experiences I made in Gleiwemünde before went into this map - large industrial areas, an airport (Maxis lot, what else? Remember that I don't like airports?  ;) ) a decent railway net and my first GLR, in fact lots of GLR, I really enjoyed GLR here.

Until the prop pox haunted this map. I went back to a prop pox - free copy three times, I blasted all PEG seasonal trees and replaced them by the SFBT Filler lots as I had the suspicion of them being the reason for them, but the pox always stroke back.

I am not sure if I am ever able to finish this map. Some days ago I found some of the screen shots I did building up Rhenbrücken at the third and last trial, and I thought I should share them with you.

They make my heart bleed, and I am not sure if I am, going to begin such a large town again until the reason and / or a treatment of/for the prop pox is found. I will not comment them and present them to you in chronological order, just enjoy.

But before we start:

bat: Thanks for the compliment my friend!
Hope you are not mad about me that I beat your great night shot in the competition ...

RickD Actually I do plan to release them but there is plenty of work left ... ;)

thundercrack83: Thanks for the compliment my friend! :)

Darmok: Thanks a lot my friend!
Yes I remember these days - also the the friendly "battle" (way to aggressive word) between my rolling hills and the flat fields of dhoppeii's of La Plaisance County - those were the days my friend ...
Glad you like the B/W picture. It looks way better this way as you don't see the colours of the american. In addition to this I am a sucker for good b/w railway pictures and it just fit here ...

oops! I almost forgot:

warconstruct: Welcome my friend! Glad you like my CJ.
Je te pris de m'excuser que j'ai oublié de te repondre mais il etait tres tard ...  :-[

Hehe, I think I've run into him and a couple of his cult members as well  %confuso

Bernhard, that's too nice an area to have got the pox. Love the railyard with the turntable and sheds. The cathedral also caught my eye, although I still have some doubts about that library, just not one of my favourite lots I guess.

Two questions if I may:

- you use the same train mod here that I use. I seem to have a problem that when the train hits diagonal track, the last carriage usually stays horizontal. Have you experienced this  ()what()

-where did you find that mid ave GLR station.

The previous rural update, well what can I say. When it comes to rolling hills and farmland your are at the top of the class
Great work with the grass embankments and wires. I've justed started playing with the LE, might have to copy these  $%#Ninj2

And finally, you're still on the coffee aren't you. Two updates in a few days  :D

Cheers

Dave

bat

I'm not mad about you. It's OK that you beat my picture. Yours was better...

And that's a very great update of the doomed metropolis! Wonderful work!
Looking forward to more...

Vario80

Thanks a lot for this splendid update Bernhard.
It's a beautiful metropolis, really nice and very green ;)
The cathedral on Picture02 looks great, can you find it here on the Lex?
Keep up the good work!

Some quick replies:

tooheys: Thanks for the compliment my friend! :)

I send you the link per pm before, here they are for other that may be interested:

SFBT Histroic Tram Station  - on the LEX

You may also look here on the SimCityKurier, there is another GLR in Avenue Station plus a lot of other nice stuff. It's a German Site but I think you can navigate there.

About the telegraph wires lots, if you give me a little time you don't need to fiddle around with the LE as I have planned to release them over the SFBT, yet there is still plenty of work left to do ... ;)

bat Thanks for the compliment! :)
Let's see, if I find some more presentable pics from Rhenbrücken I may show then, too ... ;) but chances are low that there will be new screenshots ...  ()sad()

Vario80 Thanks for the compliment! :)
The Cathedral is the Grundtvig Church from old master Simgoober. Given that this church is one of the rare nice modern churches it is shown way too little anywhere ...

Hello Bernhard,

First of all - many congratulations! Best wishes for your son and your wife, and for you of course!

As always I like your pictures very much, both Silberstein and Metropolis ones! everything is very well finished, I'm constantly amazed of your work with blending various textures  &apls

Hi Bernhard,

Two great updates there.  Love Silberstein.  Nice use of custom embankments.  And I love the RP 6House Rows backing on to the railway.

Anf the city is great too.  Shame it got infected by the pox.  The way the tunnels and the tree lined streets are done are superb.
