Growiong larger and larger every week.
Datpacking is not useful at the moment: I could redo it every three days. I'm just in a mood of lotting and I hardly played for a minute since a month.

MINES IS ABOUT, BELIEVE IT OR NOT 6,16GB ()what() ()what() ()what() I REALY DONT NOW THAT,THAT WHY ITS TAKE ABOUT 10_15 MIN WHEN I CAN PLAY WITH A CITY

FrankU

I'd say: yes indeed. Maybe it's wise to throw some plugins away? Or do you have readmes, zip files and other stuff in your plugins? Then throw them out!

Mine is pushing 3 gigs and I just re-installed sc4 on my computer about two months ago. I need to do some organizing and housecleaning.

WC_EEND

mine's just crossed 3gigs today, interresting fact: my C disk (main) with my system files and thus also my plugins is 20GB in total
RIP Adrian (adroman), you were a great friend

Well right now i am up too 4 Gig :'( and that is with datapacker, and no extra junk like .txt or .htm and so on.  For lotting and new downloads to save time i just "repack" the folders i update.  that works well.  not sure what the uper limit is but i think any more than 4 to 5 Gigs and you just have to much in all the menus.  anyone have any other ideas to save space?  ()what()

Nexis4Jersey

My plugins folder is currently at 4,052 files in 696 folders , there are only 8 files not in a folder.   I clean mine out every season and start fresh!

Yes, play a boring SC4 without plugins, or even better: quit playing SC4 alltogether and install the good old Tetris again.

No, seriously: about two months ago I decided to separate my plugins a bit by dedicating a certain region to agricultural development and another to urban development. I now have two separate pluginsfolder.
In fact there is software available taht could help me with this, but I am too lazy and just do the switching with Explorer.

My Plugins folder on 1/9/09: 1,23 GB. That's not so much.
Lurk mode: ACTIVE

Meastro444

only 1.66 Gb. I have documented every file i put on there so i can find everything i installed. Funny thing is i only have CAM (with every building listed in the thread shoreman made) NAM, few of RJ's little mods, one or 2 from Peg's. if you want CAM, you need at least 1.5 gigs.
Friend of the Certified Drama Queen :)

A200

2.08GB!

Bit healthier than it was last week- where it was like 2.32GB or some insane size.

I deleted heaps of old unneeded plugins today so it's a TINY bit better... only tiny :(

I want to cry when I see SC4 vids and the author has the game running fast  :'( I usually have to wait 2 mins each time I want to open the menu!!

I sorted my plugins into

"Buildings"
"Other"

The buildings folder was a massive *wait for it*....

1.65GB

Blame the CAM 100% :) I went on a downloading spree in october 2007 when I discovered the CAM, and since then I have been downloading each new camelot once it is released.

I really need to get rid of unneeded plugins- particularly in the transport area.  :satisfied:

FrankU

Just datpacked it:
1.665.534.683 bytes

Good night!

Sciurus

Just 831 Mb for Delfort, and 1.41Gb for Oldenburg ;)

Okay, so I lost all my plugins with my old computer and the time that it would take to build them back up again as well as finding all the dependencies would be beyond belief.

So, to whom ever has a nice large (preferably dat packed) plugin folder with a very minimal amount of missing dependency files, would it be possible to share that with me, so that I don't have to go out loooking and downloading and trying to locate dependencies all over again?  My last computer had about 3.0GB *dat packed* of plugins.  I didn't have anything that a user had to go pay a service for (like on simtropolis's disks that you can order) and had nothing that was too specialistic, but had lots and lots of stuff.

Im sure there are file sharing services on the web where one could upload a zip file of your plugins folder and where I could then download it and then go after the more specific plugins that Im missing from before.

Is anybody willing to help me out with this?

Thanks,

Well I haven't been in the scene for a while.

Anyways, I finally did it. I was able to sort all my plugins based on the place rather than the author. All the buildings are placed in appropriate folders and all I have to do now is pick them to get the right aesthetics. Yup, everything... except the BSC folder :-[. So the folder is 3.67 GB, down from 3.76 GB from my previous post. Sadly, it still doesn't account the other lots I haven't processed yet. I haven't really been playing a lot of SC4 lately (Been playing a lot of WIC lately :P). I haven't even touched the latest NAM (It's just sitting there in my computer :'(), but I'm gonna try to find some time for SC4 soon ;D.

Even if your mailbox is over 6GB, the problems you will incur are not our problem (and you will incur them).  If you decide to follow this course of action any request for help will go unanswered.  This is a final warning to anyone wishing to redistribute content that they do not own the copyright to....if it is discovered that content has been shared in this way, it will mean permanent exclusion from this site and the LEX.
The trouble with having an open mind, of course, is that people will insist on coming along and trying to put things in it

I may not be playing much, but I've finally reduced my Plugin folder from 3.67 GB to just 3.43 GB :).
