The Vast Riches of Monkey Island

Brought to you by our sponsors...

And now, on to the show...

The business leaders in Marmoset City have some grandiose plans for new development. But, plans of the magnitude they envision require a serious infusion of cash. It sounds like it's time to pay a visit to the Royal Treasury. Perhaps King C. George III will make a loan to the Chamber of Commerce to fund their dreams.

Downtown Marmoset City

The entourage followed the Monkey Island Expressway to Exit 103A, Royal Treasury Road. From here, the trip to the treasury is a passage through manicured grounds, lush with plantings and fine statuary. The treasury is housed at the summer home of King C. George III and his two viceroys, King Kong and The Duke With The Yellow Hat.

King C. George likes a nice view when he comes to inspect his wealth.

As we travel down the road, the riches start coming into view.

At Royal Monkey Circle, surrounded by wealth, you can choose to go toward King C. George's estate, King Kong's or the Chateau de Yellow Hat. Each houses a vast wealth in bananas.

Let's go see where the bananas which back up the Monkey Island economy are stored.

By King Kong's estate, millions of bananas back the paper money of Monkey Island.

King C. George has millions more at his summer estate.

He also enjoys playing around the bananas. It is the richest soccer field in the nation.

The Duke With The Yellow Hat also serves as the nation's treasurer, so he keeps a close eye on banana production – and consumption.

It's got to be a hard job to keep the money supply up with a population of hungry monkeys. Luckily, there are a LOT of bananas in the treasury.

Now that we have had the tour of the treasury, let's head back into town.

If we hurry, we can get back in time for the lunch buffet at the Golden Banana Restaurant!

Bruce loved the update and could I make a withdrawal request for a donation to the local fire fighters as their banana supply is low...

caspervg   Glad to see you here in Monkey Island! The estates are indeed plopped. They are all in the rewards menu.

art128   Obrigado! And I am delighted to have you visit Monkey Island.

Pat   Certainly! The MIFD has a substantial account at the Monkey Island National Banana Bank. Just use their account number: UA-UA-70. (ooo-aah-ooo-aah-seventy)

TheTeaCat   Thanks! He loves to show off his wealth. He has a dozen palazzos around the nation, each surrounded by banana riches. The three biggest are Dole Manor, Chiquita Castle and Palace of Peels. His personal wealth is estimated at 800 million bananas. And, of course, the national treasury contains even more than that. There's no recession on the horizon in Monkey Island!

bat   Thanks! I am glad you like the new update. King C. George III  found it to be a-peel-ing!

Thanks! Nice to see you over here as well! Monkey Island began as a plot line in the SHT Show CJ over on ST but grew into the metropolitan monkeyocracy you see here today. All hail the great power of King C. George III!!

Monkey Island Security

How does one protect the riches and population of Monkey Island? With a task force of highly trained and dedicated lemur gendarmes – Monkey Island Security Forces. To protect the safety of citizens and property, the Monkey Island Fire Department is an essential component of national security. Fire Chief Pat Waterfall is proud of his highly trained firefighters. They work paw-in-paw with Monkey Island Security to make the island a safe and happy place for everyone.

Monkey Island Fire Dept. Employee of the Month- Chief Pat Waterfall

Every town has police and fire protection.

These two services are next door to each other in the town we feature today: Camp Stinky. This is a military town. The population generally works on the military base or provides support services.

Here's a support service for the police.

Let's hop off the Monkey Island Expressway and take a look around Camp Stinky. There's only one exit for this military town, Exit 277. Luckily, it's only one exit away from the Banana Bowl, Monkey Island's largest stadium. So, the monkey soldiers can go off for great recreation while off duty.

The main road into the base and sole connection to the highway is Avenue of the Apes. This road features a nearly unbroken string of chain eateries all the way to the gates of the base.

A few Monkey Island ATMS are located conveniently nearby. To us, they look like groves of banana trees.

Overpriced eateries have bigger banana ATMs...

Those soldier monkeys really need to learn more about nutrition!

At the end of Avenue of the Apes a few hotels for family and friends buffer the endless stretch of fast food.

Now taking reservations!

Now, to Camp Stinky, itself. The base, focus of the town, is at the eastern terminus of Avenue of the Apes. It is home to an infantry division, the 410th Mechanized Flatulence Division.

Got your identification card ready for the guard?

Monkey Island's enemies had better take a long, hard look at these before they think about invading.

Many tanks are lined up after the Monkey Scouts did their annual charity car wash. The scouts make a lot of bananas and the military gets shiny clean tanks. It's a win-win, people!

A wider view of the base

A wide view of the base, looking east from the end of Avenue of the Apes.

Let's head out of the secure area and over to the housing and retail areas of Camp Stinky. The base does not have housing, but there are military-owned apartments which are available at no charge to military monkeys and their dependents.

But, if you aren't part of Monkey Island Security, the rent is 1200 bananas a month.

More housing for the base...

Private apartments are also available for non-military families. Here, Monkey Manor and Chateau de Capuchin are right across the street from a wide range of retail.

HELP! HELP! HELLLLLLLLLLP!

Someone just robbed the Kwik E Mart and the ATM behind it of nearly 1000 bananas! The suspect is described as a gorilla with a snake tattoo on the arm. Here's a sketch artist's rendering:

So, where's the local police?? Shouldn't they be on this case?

CURSES!! The "Hot donuts now" sign has drawn in the WHOLE force! Watch out, law abiding citizens, Snake is on the loose!

Wow, you've done a lot of work here since my last visit! Those are some very fetching parks and gardens you've created. The commercial areas are looking pretty good, too - you've used some nice-looking BATs. I especially like the Chateau de Capuchin - wish I could make stuff like that!

Glad to see you're still having fun with creating Monkey Island,
but I don't know about this sudden crime spree. In fact, I just saw a snakey sneaky-looking character pass by the window. But I'm not worried, I can smell the unmistakable aroma of fresh donuts, so I know the Monkey Island police are on the job!

Later...
